Earlham Lodge MINUTES Tuesday 7th June 2005
The Condensed Minutes of the 254th Regular Meeting which was held on the above date at Chingford Masonic Centre, Chingford, London E4 7AZ
The Chair was occupied by the W.M. W. Bro. Stephen Ashby, with:- W. Bro Laurence Lewis I.P.M. and supported by Donald Max SW, Bro. Elliott Chevin J.W., W. Bro. Ronald Blaskett PPAGDC Chaplain, W. Bro Laurence Gold PPJGD Treasurer, W. Bro. Gerald Chevin PProvAGStB PPGReg (RA) LGCR Secretary, W. Bro. Jeffrey Bernard PPAGDC PZ DC, W. Bro. Almoner, W. Bro. Stephen Forman PPAGDC LGR PProvAGStB (RA) Charity Steward, Bro. Michael Moss S.D, Bro Ronny Hirschkorn J.D., W. Bro. Mark Abrahams ADC, W Bro David Fletcher PPAGDC Assistant Secretary, Bro Melvyn Elliott, I.G., W. Bro Jeffrey Ziles PPJGW W. Bro’s Lawrence Phillips, Stanley Lewis, Raymond Solomons, and Bros. Michael Carson, Malcolm Ordever & Henry Engelsman were Stewards. W. Bro Palmer was Tyler.
The W.M. was supported by 16 Officers, 18 Members & 10 Visitors whose names are recorded in the signature book.
Item 1: The Lodge was opened at 16:30 in due form and solemn prayer. The W.M. displayed the Warrant of the Lodge.
Item 2: The Minutes of the previous regular meeting, having already been circulated were put to the Brethren, passed and signed as a true record.
Item 3: The APGM Was welcomed in the usual fashion by a procession, he was saluted and a suitable response was made by him.
Item 4: Election of Master:- In accordance with rule 105(a) Book of Constitutions Bro Donald Max being the only nomination the WM declared him so elected.
Election of Treasurer:-In accordance with rule 112(a) Book of Constitutions W. Bro Laurence Gold PPJGD being the only nomination the WM declared him so elected.
Elections
Tyler By a Show of Hands W .Bro Norman Pinner Proposed by the Secretary and Seconded by the DC was Carried Auditors by a Show of Hands.
Auditors W. Bro’s Kenner & Cohen were re-elected by a show of hands. Proposed by the Secretary and Seconded by the Asst Secretary.
GPC Lay Brethren
By a Show of Hands Bro’s D Lewis & I Kelly were elected to serve on the GPC for the ensuing 12 Months Proposed by the Secretary and Seconded by W. Bro Stephen Lewis was carried
Item 5: The W.M. called on the Almoner for his report. He commented on the following:- A number of Members and their Wives were recovering from various afflictions. Bert Barnett’s illness. He also mentioned a number of Stone Settings, and a number of Birthdays. Mazeltov’s to Henry Engelsman who’s son has just become engaged and he mentioned that our Preceptor Ronnie Marks had just completed his 40th Year in Masonry. He Also Read out a letter from Natalie and Elliott Chevin thanking the Lodge for their generous gift on the occasion of their recent nuptials.
Item 6: The W.M. asked the Charity Steward to collect Alms; a total of £225 was raised for the Macmillan Nurses.
The W.M. rose for the 1st time:- The Secretary stated that Grand Lodge Communications were available.
The W.M. rose for the 2nd time:- The Secretary had nothing on this Rising.
The APGM Welcomed Bro Daniel Lewis into the Province
The W.M. rose for the 3rd time:- The Secretary read a number of apologies. from M Kenner, D Van Loen, S Driver, H Robbins, R Cremin, S Pinner, I Gilbert, E Turze, R Wagner & J Mackswith.
After singing the first verse of the National Anthem, the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony with solemn prayer at 17:15 The W.M. accompanied by his Wardens, The APGM, Grand Officers Provincial Grand Officers of Essex, and Officers of other Provinces and District Grand Lodges, Holders of SLGR., LGR., Masters of other Lodges, distinguished Guests and the Brethren left the Temple to dine.
