The one-season, 1980's show Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light was produced by much of the same crew as The Transformers. It combined futuristic/alien sci-fi with mideval, magic & fantasy. The writing used comedy keep the high-concept from toppling on itself, and always found time to give each character their own personality. All in all it was pretty impressive for a show that was made to sell G.I.Joe toys with holgrams stuck to them.
For this drawing, I did something a little different. Instead of drawing a blue elfish verson of the characters on the show, I drew Nightcrawler as human and made the elf his totem creature. Since the Spectral Knights (the good guys on the show) always had blue totem creatures this seemed appropriate. I made Nightcrawler's teleporation the power of his staff.
