Nikon 7x35E CF

When I bought new binoculars I was pleased to find that the service

I got from B&H was excellent. My order was shipped the same day it was received in the mail even though I had not paid for special shipping aside from their usual method (FedEx Saver). I was also not disappointed by the very high quality that the high grade porro prism binoculars showed. They were lightweight with excellent balance and surprisingly close focusing.

Based on information from two birding optics sites (Optics 4 Birding and Better View Desired) I learned that you can get serious quality from porro prism binoculars priced from about $250.00. I picked Nikon because of their reputation and 7x35Es (part of the Criterion Series) because 7 power is the best all around power. (Zeiss has repeatedly performed research that shows 7-power allows the most detail to be gathered from eye-charts when hand-holding binoculars.) Also the 7x35 type had the highest relative brightness factor of the high-grade multipurose binoculars which Nikon sells.
