Untold Horizons Zine, issue 4

Holy shit...this is unreal, total symphonic Black Metal from the abyss. Damn! Despite the silly name and the obvious Legend of Zelda demo name, Gargamel, suprised the fuck out of me! Playing a style of B.M. which reminds me of Cradle of Filth, and Dimmu Borgir. I also detect an Arcturus influence in the opening vocals to Legions Of Ganon. I will say this had me laughing and getting into it at the same time. Pure fuckin' genious, I would love to see these fuckers on a label, causing all sorts of trouble for the scene! -Jerry X.

Visions from the Scroll, issue 2

This is a joke right? I get it, and I love it. Gargamel, show the whole Black Metal scene how it's done, and then some. You want evil, how about Skelator and Hordak baby! These weird freaks play similar to Cradle, and Covenant, so all you cheese black metallers will love this. The demo cover alone is a reason to buy the thing. -M. D.

The Morbid Reality Chronicles, issue 13

I don't know what Gargamel means, but it sounds strange, so I guess that is evil. In all my years in the scene, I have never heard of such gods, as skelitor, and Horedak, or Mumra, but as far as music goes, these guys have been listening to too much Arcturus and Cradle of Filth, the one thing missing was the female vocals...I liked it, but I think this may be a prank, I'm not sure, I reccomend it if you are curious. -Sphen

Covert Remedy xine, issue 23

What the fuck, why the hell are Black Metal fucks sending this to a hardcore zine'!!!! This shit had me rollin' though! All those screachy as fuck vocals, and the name alone made me drop one! After listening to this I had to break out the nintendo, I always knew Ganon was the goddamn devil! - Steve

What the Hell zine, issue 7

This is either a pure genious or the black metal scene is running out of ideas. I think it's a bit of both. The album is littered with references to the unholy gods such as Gamblor, Hordak, Mummra and even Destro! Don't tell Odin, but I think he's got some competition. Musically, Gargamel are a cross between Cradle of Filth and Dissection, so these boys know there stuff. Very good offering, if you can put up with the over the edge comedy contained within. -Kaos

Food for the Worms zine, issue 4

It's about time someone capitolized on this market! Ninendo metal is where I put this. I guess my mom was right, those cartoons and video games are gonna warp your mind! And these guys definitely are warped! Playing off the idiiocy and oxy moronic black metal scene, Gargamel bring what should make all other black metal bands take a triple take. Taking the most musical aspects of the scenes greats (Dissection/Cradle/Dimmu Borgir to name a few) and have the entire concept of the band focused on video game and old 80's cartoon lore was ingenious. This ideas time has come, and it's about time. 9/10 -Jerry

Grave New World zine, issue 8

Oh boy, if this isn't a sign of the fuckin', apocalypse I don't know what is! I always wondered what Gargamel was gonna do when he caught those smurfs! Well I guess he started his own black metal band. And boy do they sure sound like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle! But the hidden meanings and song titles are what get me! This is definitely a gem in that sea of crappy Black Metal bands, even if you hate black metal, pick this up, you'll laugh all the way through, and dig the music as well, from the techincal guitar work, to the great leads, good shit. -Greg
