AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY
Epilogue
Eighty-four years later, Rose Dawson sat in
front of her granddaughter and the men aboard the Keldysh. They had listened
silently while she had told them her and Jack's story. They had even shed a
tear here and there. Rose was thankful that her story had a happy ending. She
felt chills go down her spine when she thought of how different her story could
have been, had Jack died with Titanic. She'd had the chance to love, and be
loved in return.
Although Jack had died five years ago, Rose
still thanked the heavens for him every night.
She thought back to that train ride so many
years ago. It had been the start of the most wonderful years that a person
could hope for. They had made Santa Monica their home, raising their kids there
and making the most wonderful memories. Thankfully, Cal had never found them.
Rose had read in a newspaper a year later that Cal had married and inherited
his millions. She figured that he had told his father that she had died on
Titanic in order to get his inheritance.
Rose went to bed that night in peace. That had
been the first time she had told the complete story to anyone. Brock had been
shocked when he'd heard what had really happened to the diamond. It seems that
Cal had filed a claim that it went down with the ship. But now the truth is
out. Our story has been told, Jack. Rose fell into a peaceful sleep. She
would never awake again. It was time for her to be reunited with Jack once
again.
The End.
