After Rose had gotten into the man’s car, she turned to him in fear. But she desperately tried to hide it. "What is it that you want?" she asked coldly, trying to hide the terror that was building up inside her. Why did I leave with him? But deep down she knew why. This man had danger written all over his face, and she did not want to jeopardize any of her housemates.

"Well, Miss DeWitt Bukater, I’m sure that you know by now that Caledon Hockley has sent me. He wants a word with you."

Rose bit her lip nervously. Would he try to drag her back to her old life? She knew that she wouldn’t go, no matter how hard he tried. Jack had died so she could be free, and she was determined to be just that. He had taught her how to fly and she never wanted to land again. He probably wants his precious diamond back, she thought as she watched the shabby houses fade away in the darkness. She was being taken into the high class area of town, which wasn’t that far away. Well, he’ll never get his stupid diamond back! Jack lost his life, so Cal will lose his diamond, she decided. Now she knew why she had kept the Heart of the Ocean. Something inside of her had told her to hang onto it.

When the man stopped the car in front of a mansion, she could feel a lump form in her throat. "If Cal wants to speak with me, he will have to come out here. I’m not going in there," she said defiantly.

The man looked at her, his eyes flashing angrily. "Oh, you will come in, Miss DeWitt Bukater," he said as he dragged her out of the car. After he had gotten her out of the car, he picked her up and threw her over his strong shoulder. She kicked and screamed, trying desperately to free herself. But it was no use; he was too strong for her.

A moment later, she was being hauled up a staircase. "Let me go!" she screamed. But he ignored her. A moment later, she was thrown down on a bed. Before she could get to the door to the room that she was now in, the man locked it. She banged on the door furiously. "Let me out!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Cal entered the room from another door. He stood and watched as she banged, unaware of his presence. "You can make all of noise that you want, Rose. No one will let you out," he said, loud enough so she would hear him.

She stopped banging on the door and turned to face him. Her face was red with anger. "You had better let me out of here, Cal," she said angrily.

He laughed bitterly. "The only way you’re getting out of here is by marrying me," he said.

She stared at him, unbelievingly. "You can’t be serious. I’ll never marry you."

He walked toward her; his eyes were dark and foreboding. "Then you will be locked up in here for the rest of your life," he said in a low, threatening voice. His face was mere inches from hers. His eyes bore into her.

She was trembling in fear. She knew that he would keep her locked up. But she wasn’t about to marry him. Being locked up for the rest of her life would be better than marrying him and becoming his slave. "I will never marry you, Cal. That is a promise."

Cal grabbed her by the arm and threw her back onto the bed roughly. "Yes, you will, Rose, and you’re also going to tell me where the diamond is." He watched as she got back up from the bed.

"Never! I will never give you the diamond, and I won't marry you!" she yelled as she faced him once again. She spit in his face, leaving him just as shocked as he had been that night on Titanic when she had first spit at him.

Cal felt something snap inside of him. He picked her up and threw her back on the bed again. This time, she hit the headboard with a loud bang. Her vision blurred after hitting her head. A small amount of blood trickled down the side of her face.

"If you won't give me the diamond, then I will take something else that I want." She screamed as he pinned her to the bed.

"Get off of me!" she screamed as she struggled against his weight.

"Shut up, you stupid slut!" he yelled as he hit her in the face, leaving a bruise on her left cheek. He clamped his hand over her mouth, making it hard for her to scream.

She squeezed her eyes shut as he ripped off her clothes forcefully. Tears ran down her face. She could barely breath; his body was so heavy. A moment later he was taking what he wanted. She struggled against his heavy body, fighting him the whole time. But he was too strong for her.

The rape only lasted about five minutes, but to her it felt like five hours, each agonizing minute tearing through her soul. He had been rough and forceful, leaving her in pain afterward. She lay on the bed in a heap, sobbing uncontrollably.

Cal casually got dressed, acting as if nothing had happened. He turned to look at her in pity. "Oh, darling, you’re such a mess. Clean yourself up. You don’t want to look like some gutter rat, now do you? You’ll find what you need in the wardrobe."

She looked at him with swollen eyes. "I’d rather be a gutter rat than be with you."

Cal could feel the anger rise in him again. But he forced it down this time. "Well, you’re going to have to get used to me. Tonight won't be the last time that I get what I want, sweetpea."

She watched as he left the room, locking the door behind him. She stuffed her face into the pillow and sobbed. "Jack! Why did you have to die?" she screamed, making her throat sore.

Cal heard her from down the hall. She believes that gutter rat to be dead? Cal laughed to himself as he went down the staircase. Things are working out perfectly. He couldn’t believe his luck. Rose thought that Jack was dead. His life was just getting better.
