Chapter Six
A Few Minutes Later
Rose heard someone knocking on her door.
Drying her eyes, she went to answer it.
"Hi, Rose," Jack said.
"Hi, Jack."
"Rose, what is wrong?"
"They found the baby's parents. I know I
should be happy, but in the past two weeks, I have grown to love the infant,
and had hopes to adopt him."
"Rose, there are other babies that need
to be adopted."
"I know."
"So, what do you say about us adopting a
child together?"
"That sounds wonderful, Jack, but I will
always miss the infant I found in the alley behind this building."
"I know you will, Rose," Jack said,
hugging her.

"Thank you for letting me stay at your
place for a few weeks," Cal said.
"You are welcome, Cal," said Molly
Brown.
"I can't believe how foolish I used to
be. I hope someday to find a way to get Rose to forgive me."
"I am sure you will."
