Chapter Eleven
A Few Days Later
Cal was bringing the kids back to the Dawsons
when there was a knock on his door. Thinking it was Jack, he went to answer it.
"Father, what are you doing here?" Cal asked in shock.
"I came to bring you back to
Philadelphia. Ruth is getting Rose."
"Father, I am not going back to
Philadelphia."
"Yes, you are, Cal. You are going to
marry Rose."
"Father, Rose is already married to Jack
Dawson. They have four adopted children and are expecting twins."
"That can be taken care of. Now, go and
get packed."
"No, Father. Now, if you will excuse me,
I have to bring the kids back to the Dawsons."
Cal was walking away when his father took out
a needle and poked him in the neck. Cal quickly lost consciousness.

Ruth sneaked in, using an unlocked door.
Rose heard footsteps. "Jack, is that
you?"
"No, Rose. It is your mother."
"Mother, what are you doing here?"
"To take you back to Philadelphia. Cal father's
is getting him."
"No, Mother."
"Yes, Rose."
"Mother, I am not leaving Jack. We have
four adopted children and are expecting twins."
"Rose, if you refuse to go without a
fight, there is only one thing to do." Ruth took out a needle from her
purse and poked Rose in the neck. Rose quickly lost consciousness.
A Few Hours Later
Jack walked in, carrying a package for Rose.
"Rose, I'm home!"
No answer.
He went upstairs to the bedroom. The door was
closed. He knocked. "Rose, are you okay?" When there was no answer,
he opened the door. Upset, but not yet worried, he went downstairs to call Cal.
When there was no answer, he called the police.
