MY JACK IS GONE, AND I'M FOREVER LONELY
Chapter Four
Dreams Come True
Rose looked around the room, not believing it
was all a dream. He had to be alive. He just had to. It was, after all, one
year to the day that Titanic sank, April 15, 1913. So maybe there was hope.
Just then she heard a knock at the door. She
quickly got dressed and went to answer it. When she opened the door, there he
was--Jack! She could hardly believe her eyes. "Jack? I love you
Jack!" she cried as she ran into his arms and hugged him.
"Well, after you fainted in my arms, I
asked your friend Violet where you lived, and she helped me take you home. And
I figured I'd come over to see how you were," Jack said as he saw the look
of disbelief that he was there on Rose's face.
"Oh, Jack, when I woke up, I was all
alone. I thought it was a dream. Oh God, Jack. I love you!" she blurted as
she kissed him deeply.
"Rose," he said as they entered her
home. "I have to talk to you," he said with a look of concern on his
face.
"What's wrong?" Rose asked, very
concerned for Jack's well being. They sat down on the couch next to one another
and Jack explained.
"You see, Rose, you know when you said I
love you to me, well, I'm sorry I never answered you," he said.
Rose quickly replied, "Oh, Jack. It's
OK. I knew you didn't really have to." And she smiled.
"Rose, you know I love you," Jack
said and tears came to both of their eyes.
"Oh, Jack, I love you, too," she
said.
"Rose, I have a question," Jack
said, looking into her eyes. "Will you marry me?" he asked.
Rose almost burst out with joy. "Oh,
Jack. YES! I will marry you! I love you so much! I love you!" she
exclaimed.
And he looked up at her and laughed. "I
love you, too! Boy, you do love me, don't you? And I love you so much I want to
spend every minute I have left in my life with you. No, make that every second."
And they kissed so deeply Rose thought they would melt into one person.
She couldn't help thinking that she finally
found the man she loved, and she would be with him forever...always...
