LIFE AFTER JACK
Chapter Seven

Rose gasped when she saw who it was. To see Jack on the ground, naked, while beating him up was kind of funny to her.

"Cal! Are you telling me you had the courage to come back to my apartment? Jack, quit for a minute so he can talk!" exclaimed Rose.

"I was here to…um…" Cal obviously was not going to tell Rose and Jack the truth.

"Well?" asked Rose.

Rose saw that the diamond was lying on the floor beside him. She grabbed it as quickly as she could. Jack did not know that Rose had picked up the diamond because he was still trying to put his underwear back on. Jack walked over to Cal when he was dressed and asked Cal where the diamond was. Cal responded by saying Rose had it.

"You lying son of a bitch! Tell me where the diamond is!" shouted Jack.

Rose walked over and showed Jack that she did, in fact, have the diamond. Jack asked her where she got it. Jack had the idea in his mind that Rose had just misplaced the diamond. Rose told Jack that she got the diamond off the floor from beside Cal. By this time, Cal was out cold on the floor.

"We should take the lying son of a bitch to a trash pile and throw him into it!" Rose said, laughing.

"Well, let’s go. I think there is one in the alley over here," said Jack.

"Are you serious? I was just joking," replied Rose.

"Well, he has put you through hell, Rose, and he should experience it, too," Jack said.

Rose and Jack got ready and dragged Cal to the front door. They dragged him down the stairs and went out the front door of the apartment building. There was a trash heap across the street, and they decided they would put Cal in it. They pulled him across the street and threw him in the trash pile.

"I think that is the last we will see of him," said Rose.

"Well, I hope so," Jack said.
