Picture Rocks State Park: along Lake Superior in Upper Michigan

Picture Rocks State Park in Northern Michigan is a very flat, sandy trail that is easy for beginners to hike. It is also a very scenic trail, which makes the easy terraine worthwhile to any advanced hiker. This was my second trip, and first "real" hike. The trip lasted 10 days.

This campsite was one of my favorite. All along this beach the rocks were scalped in this fasion.

This is an old log roll tree harvesters used to transport trees down to Lake Superior below. It is 500ft long, and it took me about 3 minutes to jump/fly down it and 10 minutes for me to crawl back up. The angle was quite steep and coming back up wasn't nearly as much fun as going down.

One of the many Lighthouses

This is just one of many fantastic views that dot the hiking trail's rugged cliffs.

This is refered to as "the broccoli car." It's a very old car sitting in the middle of the woods. No one knows where it came from, and we have reasons to suspect it wasn't originally green.
