Daily News Update October 11, 1999

* Paul Bearer was backstage at the Heroes of Pro Wrestling PPV, and looks tremendous. He's dropped about 30 pounds, and is enjoying his first significant time off in nine years. Expect Bearer and Taker back in the WWF in a couple of months.

* Current No Mercy Card
World Wrestling Federation Championship Match Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Triple H
Tag Team Championship Match The Hollys vs. New Age Outlaws
Women's Championship Match Fabulous Moolah vs. Ivory
Good Housekeeping Match Chyna vs. Jeff Jarrett
The Bulldog vs. The Rock
Val Venis vs. Mankind

* Canadian hip-hoppers Rascalz have Bret Hart in their new video "GameTime"/"Sharpshooter (Best Of The Best)". According to the press release, the video, directed by Stephen Scott, shows the five-piece group overcoming hip-hop inspired obstacles in an attempt to save Hart from an evil scientist, culminating in a raucous performance with Hart and Rascalz "in that ring" celebrating his rescue.

* The same copmany that produced Bret Hart's "Wrestling With Shadows" has completed a biography centered around the life and times of Owen Hart. Currently, this biography is scheduled to air on the A&E channel on Tuesday, November 16, at 8:00 PM (EST.)

* Famed mid-south announcer Gordon Solie who was advertised to be the announcer of the Heroes of Wrestling pay per view was diagnosed with a tumor in his throat last night.

* Meltzer reports that one indication of the WWF not being happy with the progress of Paul Wight (The Big Show) is that he is now being considered for a low card match with Prince Albert at the upcoming No Mercy PPV. Many insiders feel that the WWF is trying to slide him down the ladder to make him try to prove himself within the WWF and make Wight put forth more effort into his matches. The same concept is rumored to be done to Jericho soon if he does not clean up his act.

* The rumor concerning Hulk Hogan asking for his 90 day clause from WCW is presumably false. Dave Meltzer says that he is under the assumption that it is not true. Meltzer has spoken with a couple of Hogan's close friends and they have told him that Hogan hasn't spoken a word about leaving WCW, to them.
