Working Dates: 1862-67.

King and Smith patented an improved washer cutter. Patented Oct. 24, 1865, #50,600. Patented by Otis A. Smith and Charles A. King of Middletown, CT. Also, made by Savage & Smith, Globe Manufacturing Co., Johnson & Smith and Otis A. Smith. Rockfall ( a village of Middlefield) touches Middletown to the southwest. It is also on the Arrowmammett river. Middlefield was part of Middletown until 1866.
