I die a death each day as you watch me in dismay
with deafened ears you hear, the nonsense of no fear.
I try to then explain the reasons to refrain
but words still fail to show the knowledge that is so.
Could you look upon my soul and see my final goal?
Could you pass unscathed the way and survive forsaken days?
Could you ever know the reign of the endless sea of pain?
That won’t let you forget that deadly friend, regret.
Don’t try to understand what lives inside this man
the feelings that are stored, the dreams that now are moored
The empty place I’ve stood the ground below that would
have opened up to swallow this magnitude of sorrow.
When all is said and done, when light runs from the sun
take my words into your mind, try to fathom what you find.
One life is what we’re given and by our hearts are driven
to follow what we see the truth for us to be.
