| Innocence Lost |
I am the last one of my kind and I walk this Earth alone.
No-one shares my faith or calls my heart their home.
I journey through incessant days of clouds and storms and rains,
burdened with a useless heart that’s scarred and gashed and maimed.
Hope, I once did carry like a precious memory.
A senseless childhood fancy that was the death of me.
I longed one day to share the world, adventures to explore,
with my soul mate by my side in love that would endure.
But life is cruel by nature and humanity gullible
to believe in factless fancy and fallacious factual.
No-one dreams of me at night and yearns for my advent.
No-one cries my name in prayer and hopes I’m Heaven sent.
A perfect partner made for I is a fallacy and lie
and forth from this day onward declare it till I die.
My eyes are now wide open to the fables and the fools
who blindly follow fairytales, myths and antique rules.
Death steps forth from shadows now my eyes have been unclosed
and strides beside me boldly urging, “Slash! Blood freely flows.”
My lot is cast and future drawn, my role has been unfurled
to live and breathe for nothing and trudge this all foul world.
So eyes that shine and hearts that fly stay blinded by your ignorance
or one day soon Death might join you when love has killed your innocence.
