General info

I am a student at Alexandria University, Faculty of Engineering, department of Systems and Computer Engineering.

I like programming very much and I learnt many high/low level programming languages. I know BASIC, Pascal, Java, C/C++/C#, Assembly and many other languages. I started programming BASIC and Assembly for the MSX AX170 when I was only 9 years old. After that I switched to the PC programming and entered a different huge world.
I am not such a programmer, I learnt at my department to be a software engineer. At the computer department we take many software courses like Data Structures, File Strucutres, Algorithms, Object Oriented Programming. We also take advanced courses such as Database Mangagement Systems, Operating Systems, Compilers. These courses help us to be Systems Engineers.

The hardware part is also considred. At the computer department I took many hardware courses. I learnt Digital Design (3 courses), Computer Architecture, Automatic Control (3 courses), DSP and others. Though I love software much more, I am very good at hardware and like it too.

Through the four years in the computer department I've attended many trainings. These training gave me the experience for the real life work.

At the end of the 1st year in the computer department I attended a training at the university about computer hardware and maintainance. The training period was 4 weeks. I learnt about main computer parts and the technology behind each part. Also I learnt about performance of the computer and how and how much it depends on each part.

The next year (2nd year) I've been to a training at Alexandria Petroleum Co. The field of the training was about real hardware systems especially automatic control and modern control systems. I recongized the most important parts in the automatic control systems and how the overall system looks like. The training period was 4 weeks also.

The next training experiences were the most important to me. After the 3rd year I have attended two trainings.
First I went to Informatics Technology Institute at Mubarak City. There I have been involved with one of my friends in a database system for the library. With the help of our supervisor we build a whole system for the library. I learnt how to communicate with non technical people such as the librarian and how to get the information I need. The training period we only 3 weeks but it was very useful.
Immediatly after finishing my training at Mubarak City, I've been applied as a trainee at IBM Egypt TDC (Technology Development Center). I have been their for a whole month. There I have learnt many experiences and used new tools. I have been set in a project in the field of web programming. I have learnt to use some IBM tools like WebSphere Studio and Eclipse.

I have made many sites before for each program or game I made. I thought it would be better to combine them all in one site. As I always believe 'It's not enough to make it good. Make it the best'. I tried to make this site as good as I can.

This site is written entirely in XML (Extensible Markup Language). It is then transformed to HTML using XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language). This allows me to separate the page structure from page formatting. I can easily change the appearance of the whole site with just changing one XSL file. I used an open source tool called Xalan to tranfsorm XML/XSL files into HTML.

I am currently at the graduation year of the computer department. I am very busy making my graduation project among a group of five. The graduation project is about making a client/server messenger with a game server. My supervisors are Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nazih El-Derini and Prof. Dr. Hussein Hassan.

I will be graduated (Insha'Allah) in the first week of July 2005.
