SIDE NOTE-Before I review the actual episode, I just want to point out that this is one of those times where Toei gave the episode a really dramatic title, that a certain amount of thought obviously went into, and FUNimation turns around and gives it the generic kind of title that you'd expect to see on a fighting video game. (Nothing against fighting video games, but, like most video games, they just don't make 'em like they used to.)
SIDE NOTE-The voice of the announcer at the elimination rounds is quite possible FUNimation's best voice choice, which is a sad thing indeed.
CUT-Oolong enjoying a peek at Bulma's underwear while she stands on his shoulders. (13 sec.)
SIDE NOTE-Every time that there's a black fighter in Dragonball or Dragonball Z, FUNimation makes him sound even dumber than Mr. T. At least Mr. T had some wonderful catch phrases like "jibba jibba."
CUT-Oolong attempting to sneak another peek at Bulma's underwear. (4 sec.)
CUT-The camera panning down, revealing Bulma's underwear. It is quite unhealthy for a writer to have such a fixation on young women's underwear. (3 sec.)
SIDE NOTE-I notice that FUNimation is a bit contradictive when it comes to editing these things. Showing Bulma's underwear is a complete no-no, but in this same shot, and in a few others, the camera is below Bulma just so that we can see how big her breasts are. I can't say that I didn't enjoy that shot the first time that I saw it, but still, it's contradictive.
SIDE NOTE-FUNimation adding in the dialogue during the crowd scenes, and stupid dialogue at that. There's a reason that they don't have them saying anything in the original version, you are not supposed to heard what they are saying, it's a crowd scene. No dialogue actually enhances the effect.
CUT-Bulma kicking and screaming while Puar is stuck to hear face, and everyone noticing that she is revealing her underwear in the process. (19 sec.)
CUT-Bulma realizing that she has revealed her underwear. It is a hilarious scene, but again, it's not healthy... (9 sec.)
SIDE NOTE-FUNimation is getting very lazy with editing, the blood spurting from the bear's nose upon Kuririn's kick to it was left intact! Wow! Now if only Cowboy Bebop's editors could ignore more things.
