Well, I've been waiting to do some new episode comparisons for over a year now, and here's my chance...sadly, for the time being, they're the same damn episodes! Oh well, on with the much awaited episode comparison...
SIDE NOTE-I was caught right away by the fact that, for the most part, FUNimation is using the same script as before. I wasn't really expecting them to take the time to write a new one, but it just feels a bit like cheating. Right off the bat I am impressed by two things-1)The fact that they no longer have Gohan's spirit talking, it never had a purpose there anyway, and 2)The original music! I am checking my pulse right now to see whether or not I'm dead, and I not. Instead, my heart is racing while listening to such a terrific score.
ODD DIALOGUE ALERT-The line with the phrase "totally radical" sounds evern odder now with the new narrator's delivery.
SIDE NOTE-Goku talking to his "tummy"...it's actually kinda' adorable.
SIDE NOTE-Finally! We get to see Goku's ass! I am not a big fan of other men's asses, but it's still nice to not have the ass hidden anymore. Also, in that very same scene, there's something disturbing happening. That fish's mouth is moving, and for the second time, it ain't talkin'.
CENSOR-The 1st on the show! Congrats! Speed lines and splashes of water now cover Goku's lil' gift of nature...it's better than shaky underwear.
CUT-Am I surprised? Goku still isn't shot by Bulma (30 sec.)
CENSOR-Bulma's panties are now red again, but this time they've sped up the scene so that she turns around quicker and therefore we can't really see them anyway.
SIDE NOTE-About them arguing over names...I like them arguing over names...
SIDE NOTE-Shuu's new voice is horrid, my gorge rises while listening to it. In retrospect, during the voice vote, I shoulda' voted for the Bullwinkle voice.
CUT-Bulma still isn't bribing Goku by offering to let him touch her panties, and I still am not surprised.
SIDE NOTE-Amazingly, FUNimation let Bulma wet her pants for the second time! I still don't know why, either. Also, it's nice to hear the fantastic English version of the ending song, but so short...
