Mirai Trunks: Much different from his present-time counterpart, Mirai Trunks is deep and thoughtful, with a slight aura of sadness about him. His life was torn apart by the Jinzouningen, and even after their destruction, he still carries around a part of that bitterness. He has a desperate need to take care of the people around him, most likely out of guilt. Being the sole protector of the Underground City, he has a striking amount of responsibility and a need to be careful and protective. He isn’t a particularly friendly person, though he is very kind and caring; he just isn’t that outgoing or outspoken. He lives mostly within his mind, basing all decisions and actions on careful thought and what his heart tells him. Though he has a lot on his mind and a lot of responsibilities, there is still a large part of him that would like to dream and love and finally be at peace. He strives to achieve that perfect peace, whether it be through the death of the Jinzouningen, or through a deeper relationship with another person.

Mirai Tayhei: Like Trunks, Tayhei had a very hard time growing up. She grew up completely independent and very lonely, after losing her sister to the Jinzouningen. That independence helped her to become a much stronger person that she might have otherwise, and she has managed to live through a great deal of opposition. Because the Jinzouningen caused her so much anguish, she sought nothing but revenge against them, and would do whatever it took to rid the world of them. She is sweet and innocent, and very thoughtful and deep, contemplating her actions before following through. A certain amount of tranquillity lies within her soul, and despite the pain and frustration she experiences, she manages to void it out with that inner peace. When her sister died, Tayhei’s heart died with her, and she spends a lot of time trying to protect herself from further hurt. She is distrustful of most people, yet wants to find the good in everyone and everything. She is determined, independent, loyal and kind, and wants nothing more than to have justice and someone to love.

Status: True love. They both came from a very tough place in their lives, and neither one of them knew what to do with the pain and injustice they felt inside. To love each other, they managed to push all of that aside, and give their hearts to one another. The sadness that both of them felt inside was lightened into a passionate, deep relationship. Each was frightened to let go of the life that they had lived before, but when they were finally able to let go, they realized just how beautiful love could be. Instead of seeking revenge separately and selfishly against the Jinzouningen, they used their love to conquer the androids together, in the most unselfish and lovely way. The greatest kind of love is the kind where you learn and grow together, and Mirai Trunks and Tayhei are a perfect example of this. Neither one was the same after they fell in love, both of them grew to become something much more amazing. They could have been together and remained the same, but they both recognized that there was a lot there that could be changed. They needed to grow, needed to let themselves finally be at peace, and the only way they could manage it was with each other. However, although their personalities and outlooks changed while they were together, their feelings did not. Their feelings only grew during their time together, magnified by the joy of seeing the people that they were slowly becoming.
