Gokuu: Kindhearted and true, Gokuu has always been everyone’s favorite guy. He views the world in a much different way than everyone else, oozing with optimism and cheerfulness. Though he doesn’t show it that often, he cares very much about the people in his life, especially his family. He loves both of his sons very much and has a very special place for ChiChi in his heart. Many would say that fighting is his first love, food falling second, with ChiChi at a distant third, but inside, he knows that ChiChi means everything to him. He would do anything to protect her and their family, even if it meant not being able to be with them for long amounts of time. If they are threatened in any way or hurt, Gokuu is always there to protect them and keep them safe. He views that as his job, as a husband and father, and knows no other way to show the love the he has in his heart for them.

ChiChi: She is seen by most of her friends and acquaintances as a terrible nag and a ferocious mother, but the ChiChi inside is a completely different person. The way she treats Gokuu and her sons is a reaction to the deep fear of losing them. She desperately loves her husband, in a way that almost scares her, and the thought of losing him in battle makes her angry, not only at him, but at the world in general. She is strong inside, such a strength that it surprises her sometimes, but generally she is seen as an emotional, easily depressed person. She would do anything to help her family, to make them happy, and keep them safe. They are truly the most important thing in the world to her, surpassing her own dreams and desires by far. She has an unfailing kindness about her and a drive to make things right and good, a part of the childlike innocence that still resides in her heart.

Status: Protective Love. ^.^ Since both of them have the purest of hearts, their love for each other is also pure and innocent. It’s true and uncomplicated, the barest, most essential type of love that can be found. Gokuu watches over ChiChi, guards her and protects her, sensing that while he may be strong and capable, ChiChi is not. When she first came into his life, he wasn’t quite sure what to do with her, because he had never been with a woman before, but through their time together, he came to realize just how precious she was. He views ChiChi as something special and fragile, something that he has to take care of and keep safe for all time. In the same way, ChiChi also protects Gokuu, from the world that surrounds him. Gokuu is so optimistic and cheerful sometimes that he doesn’t realize how things really are in the world. She wants to protect him from all of that, by showing him the real world, but Gokuu is so far gone that there’s really no hope anyway. ^.^ Though Gokuu is really the sole protector, ChiChi comes off as the stronger person in the relationship, most likely because she is more realistic about things. She fell in love with Gokuu almost instantly, this kindhearted, wonderful man that came into her life. Through the years, he showed her nothing but kindness and compassion, but she also began to worry that he might not feel as strongly for her as she did for him. The truth is, both of them want each other to be safe, because they would both be lost without each other. They balance each other out in the most perfect way, guarding over each other tirelessly so that neither of them will ever be unsafe.
