There was a brief intermission after Bulma and Vejiita forfeited, and the crowd returned to the dance floor. However, many of them were so bewildered by the events of tonight’s violent competition that their dancing just wasn’t as energetic as it used to be. After witnessing so much action and playing so many songs, the band onstage was also a little worn out. They begged Mr. Popo for a short break and their managed eventually let them, turning on a CD of theirs so that the crowd would have something to dance to. Backstage, Two Cyborgs and a Human were relaxing thoughtfully in the comfortable accommodations that had been provided for them.
"Kuririn sweetie, you're doing such a great job tonight." Juuhachi-gou said while softly rubbing his shoulders. He was sitting on her lap on the comfortable couch, sitting a soft drink and tapping his foot to the music of their CD.
He turned back to face her and kissed her loudly on the lips. "Thanks Pumpkin. You too."
Next to them on the couch was Juunana-gou, and he had his head buried in his hands, not wanting to watch them and their public displays of affection. An empty glass of alcohol sat next to him and he longed for another. He needed it just to simply get through this night. Every single time he turned around his sister and that monk bastard seemed to be kissing each other. It was enough to make him want to vomit.
"You guys are sickening." He growled, disgusted.
Turning her attention away from Kuririn, Juuhachi-gou's eyes narrowed. "What did you just say?" She demanded.
"I said, 'You guys are sickening'". Juunana-gou repeated, straightening up on the couch and facing them with red and angry eyes. As soon as he spoke, his sister’s eyes began to water, full of tears. He immediately felt bad.
"You think I'm sickening?" she asked quietly. Her chin was quivering.
Again, he felt sorry for what he had said. Just because he was feeling lonely and left out did not mean that he had to take it on her. She had no idea what she had been putting him through lately. And it was his fault that she didn’t have any idea --- because he had never told her anything. Nothing would ever get better unless he told her how he felt about her and Kuririn’s growing relationship. Nothing would ever heal unless he let the wound be shown.
“I didn't mean it.” Juunana-gou apologized. “I’m sorry Juuhachi. I just feel so left out. I feel like I’m not a part of your life anymore; like I’m not your brother anymore. I’m just….the drummer in your band.” He let out a heartbreaking sob.
Kuririn sniffed and wiped a stray tear away. "That was beautiful, man."
"I love you Juunana-gou!!" Juuhachi-gou cried suddenly, and a million emotions swept through him immediately.
She threw her arms around him, sobbing. Kuririn also joined in, jumping off of Juuhachi-gou’s lap and crawling into Juunana-gou’s. Together, they all shared a td they all shared a tearful, emotional, and very meaningful group hug. They clutched one another, their hearts full of feelings and love as they sobbed with one another.
They were still holding each other when Mr. Popo walked in. He stared.
"Oh my god....What are you doing now?! We are due back on stage in five minutes and you're having a nervous breakdown?!" Mr. Popo shouted at them.
They broke apart and guiltily apologized.
"Time is money people! TIME IS MONEY!!” He yelled at the three, his hands on his hips. He didn’t know how many times he had been over this with them. They just couldn’t seem to grasp the concept. Really, he should quit. They simply were not paying him enough to go through his kind of hell. “Now get your asses out there and start playing!”
As a very teary-eyed and guilty Two Cyborgs and A Human took their places on stage, the next two competitors moved out onto the dance floor. After counting off, the band struck up, “Jungle Boogie”.
Yamucha stared down his competition wearily as he started to move to the music. Just as he dreaded, he had ended up getting Kamesennin as an opponent. Hopefully the Turtle Master would be too old and tired to be able to dance well now. There had been an awful lot of excitement so far during the tournament, and it had probably worn the old man out by now. At least, that’s what Yamucha told himself as he dipped down to the floor and spun around. He just hoped that he wouldn’t be embarrassed horribly in front of all these people when he was out-danced by a crooked old man.
To further press Yamucha’s worries, Kamesennin suddenly surprised him. The old man spun around quickly and in a move that was reminiscent of Michael Jackson and then placing a hand on his pelvis and rocked back and forth. His moves were sharp and even, and obviously well-rehearsed. Surprised by his very youthful steps, Yamucha blinked in amazement. It was simply impossible that someone that old and crippled could move in such a way. He began to worry, sweat dripping down the side of his temple. Oblivious to his worries, the audience was thrilled. They started chanting the Turtle Master’s name enthusiastically, further embarrassing Yamucha. He knew now that he had to do something drastic or he was not going to win. Taking a deep breath, he twisted and twirled until he was almost too dizzy to stand, then broke into one of his heated, fast paced moves.
The crowd roared in approval.
Just when Yamucha thought he might make it, Kamesennin did the most horrible thing imaginable: he paused in his dancing suddenly, his feet falling into a very familiar position. He brought his hands around to the front of him, palms facing out as energy circled around them, and he began to yell.
"Ka….me....ha….me....ha....MACERANA!!!" He shouted. Then ripped into the legendary dance move that only he and a handful of selected others had ever been able to do. Yamucha stared in absolute shock as Kamesennin performed the Kamehameha-Macerana. The crowd was going absolutely wild as they watched the old man dance. Yamucha knew that he was done for. He had already lost. But the Turtle Master had not yet given up.
"Kamehameha-MACERANA!!!" Kamesennin yelled again. His body started going wild, like he had no control over it at all. He started spinning and flapping his arms wildly, flopping all over the dance floor. He had absolutely no idea what was happening to him, but his just kept on moving faster and faster. Chairs, glasses and people flew in all directions as Kamesennin repeated the move over and over, moving so fast that the naked eye could barely see him.
Then suddenly the old man ran full force into Yamucha, knocking him off the dance floor and crashing into a nearby table.
"THE TURTLE MASTER IS THE WINNER!!" The announcer cried as Yamucha was revived by several audience members.
"I AM THE NUMBER ONE DISCO DANCER!!!!" Piccolo yelled.
