Plaza Suite - Act 3 Visitor from Forest Hills

by Neil Simon. Directed by Roma-Lee Western.
by special arrangement with Dominie Pty Ltd

Derek Clarke, Julie-Anne Clark, Roma Western

Mimsey Hubley is the first in her family to be getting married and where better to hold the wedding than at the prestigious Plaza Hotel?

The hors d'oeuvres are served, the musicians are playing, the dress is beautiful and the groom awaits. There is just one problem - Mimsey has locked herself in the bathroom and she's not coming out!

The stage is set for an hilarious half hour of pre-wedding mayhem, as Mr & Mrs Hubley (Derek Clarke and Julie-Anne Clark) pull out all stops to get Mimsey (Gwendydd Fox) out of the bathroom. The plot includes torn stockings, a broken arm, a drenched and ripped rented suit and a good diamond ring. The only cool head in the cast is groom Borden Eisler (Jesse Parker).

People of all ages will relate to this story of a nervous bride and her anxious parents.

It's the early 1950's and Ma & Pa have gone to the city (Melbourne), to pick up extra stock for the shop in the rusty old truck. The rush will be on for Christmas you know!
Whilst in town they will be collecting cousin Arthur for a vacation in the country.

Everything will be OK because Grandpa is in charge with lots of help from young Dorothy and David. Never-the-less, things can get a bit challenging with visits from the local busy-body, Mrs Prattle and her daughter Polly, the prim, proper and somewhat overly sophisticated schoolteacher Miss Skimp, as well as the three mischievous Heaslip boys, Charley, Tommy and Moses.

Hello!

What's been happening to the wood?

Will David get his bike for Christmas?

What is that strange noise in the kitchen stove?

Find out in our explosive finish to Talking Shop.
