* * Gift Of Love * *

The next morning Marisa woke up and saw Alex still sound asleep and snoring. She went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and take a bath so that she could go and make Alex breakfast. As Marisa was about to wash out the soap from her hair Alex walked in the shower and gave her a fright

"How long have you been watching me?"

"Not long enough, why you act like I have never seen you naked before?" Alex says with a sweet and sexy smirk.

"No it is just that you scared me that's all baby" as she stands on her tip toes to kiss him.

"So can we stay in and take a bath together?" Alex asks with a sad pouting face and those sad puppy dog eyes.

"Well I was just about done but if you can make it worth my wild I just might change my mind and stay to help you out" Marisa said with a naughty look in her eyes.

Alex striped himself of his towel and joined in completely just then Marisa reached for her towel and grabbed the body soap and turned the shower knob to a colder temperature and says " Here you go baby have fun but don't take to long we have a long day ahead of us."

"But wait you said if I convinced you" Alex yelled out to Marisa as she made her out to the bedroom

"Well maybe next time you will be more convincing" Marisa yelled back at Alex with a giggle.

Marisa got dressed and as she walked over to one of her dressers to grab a pair of Alex's favorite panties she felt eyes on her like a hawk she turned around and low and behold Alex was standing there in the door way from the bathroom.

"Baby you scared me what are you waiting for we are late come on get dressed we don't have time to full around" her voice sounding less convincing that, that was what she wanted him to do. Alex wrapping his arms around her waist asked in a deep raspy whisper

"What is more important than getting back in that bed with me your future husband huh?"

" Well let me think brunch with our families and going to the studio you promised Nick that we would go and meet him there today he did come all the way out here from Florida so that you can help him with a few songs don't you remember?" Marisa said in a strong aggressive voice so that Alex would know that she was no longer playing.

"Oh shit babe I forgot all that was today why didn't you tell me earlier?" Alex yells down the hall as Marisa walks out. Alex looks at what Marisa laid out for Alex to wear she went down stairs to feed the dogs and grabbed a glass of O.J. before they left for the rest of the day. Alex came down the stairs and asked Marisa if she was ready to go so that he can go to his home away from home Mc Donald's for a quick soda since they were on their way and late to go and see Denise, Adolf Alex's grandpa Melissa Marisa's mom. "Well it is about time you two of you showed up we were all beginning to think that you had forgotten about us" Denise said giggling and hugging her son.

"Well we know Alex he loves to make an entrance and takes his sweet time to get ready" Marisa said laughing at everyone'd responses with "well yeah" as more laughing occurs Alex asks

" Hey is this everyone jump on Alex day, and is that how you treat me oh since I have been here huh?" with that sad look in his eyes as though it hurt his feelings.

" I will remember that the next time I am out of town and everyone wants me home" with a fake cry everyone turns to each other and looks as Denise replies with

" Well son now you know what we are talking about"while leaning to Marisa and giggling still.

" Okay, okay lets leave him alone my poor baby has been through enough bashing for today" Marisa said while winking at Denise and mouthing "later when he is gone" Denise winks back and noods okay.

" Okay now really what is new you two look like you can not wait to say something" Melissa says.

"Well we have some great news for all of you" Alex said impatiently" as Marisa and Alex turn to each other and smile then back to the family Marisa yelled out "We are going to get married ! ! !" and of course like most mothers the news was wonderful and both mothers jumped up and grabbed the two of them for a family hug.

"Well lets celebrate with a special kind of lunch" Adolf said " especial because I am starving" Denise with tears of joy in here eyes says " Oh Pop you are always hungry"in a jokingly voice.

Denise was still in the spirit of this whole wedding that all throughout lunch she was thinking that her baby boy was really growing up and becoming the man that she had always thought of him to be a really family man and soon she just knew there would be the pitter-patter of babies feet in their home she could hardly wait.

After lunch Denise said to Marisa " lets get together the three of us you, Melissa and myself and you to look at a dress for you I am just so happy that after the past 7 ½ years you guys are finally going to make it official." with those words Denise remembers the things they have had to over come:

The first year Alex. would take Marisa everywhere he was even on tour. At the concerts he sat her in the pit right in front he had her with securities everywhere and even to and from the bus so that she was always well taken care of. The fans loved Marisa she was just like them she would pose for pictures with the fans and talk to them just like another fan.

Then the second year was a little different. Alex left Marisa at home a lot and would call her from clubs and say that he would be back at the hotel later so don't call. That was when the cheating started. Marisa knew and would confront Alex but he would just say that she is the only one for him and buy her lots of gifts to forget what she already knew.

The third year was not much better the touring had settled down to record their next album and Alex was at home but never had time for Marisa and so she was left to find the love and attention that Alex once showed in another and she did. Marisa would hang out and just do the normal friend things and one day things just happened and before things went to far Marisa left and went to Alex and explained everything. She told him that she was not to blame for what she was going to tell him but in fact it was him and he needs to show her more attention or the next time something like that were to happen she might not stop. p>Alex changed but not for long. The next year the popularity of the guys rose out of nowhere they had sold over a million records in the first week of the release of Millennium and so just as before Alex was out all of the time and would not call this time and left Marisa worried all of the time thinking of what could have happened and finally she left.

Things stayed that way for about 6 months Marisa moved into a small apartment and got a regular job as a hostess at a restaurant. Alex went in there regularly to see her and they did the friends thing for the 6 months they were not together and for that whole time he stayed glued to her so they decided to try it again.

The guys went back to the studios for yet another album this one being Black and Blue and their sixth year together back and forth Alex took Marisa to some of the places but for the most part she stayed in L.A. since they just got their home there right as the tour was about to take off. Now it was a new story a new beginning for the two of them.

"Mama D are you okay you seem like you are in another world ?" Marisa asked with concern Denise trying to snap back to the here and now says "Oh I am okay sweetie I was just thinking of um Alex you know how much the to of you have grown over the years, come on lets set that date for us all to go and look at dresses kay ?"

"Oh well we are running late Mama D but I will call you as soon as we get home is that okay ?"

"Yes of course sweety you two go and do what you have to and call me later on tonight and please be careful we all know how my son acts behind a car wheel" she says with a serious face and giggles at the end.

"Alex baby we got to go we are late again like usual" Marisa said to Alex who was just being a goof ball like he normally is after a big tour he gets so excited to be home for the first few days.

Marisa and Alex rushed over to the studio where Nick was waiting impatiently pacing back and forth.

"Hey man I am so sorry we are late but you know Marisa" Alex said to Nick trying to make it out as if Marisa was the one

"What did I hear you right McLean , it was who that made us late?" Marisa said in a sarcastic voice.

"No baby Nick was saying it was you not me I would never do that" he said and under his breathe turning to face Nick again he continued with "if I knew you were right there" with the raise of his eye brows.

"You two sound like an old married couple that can not drive one goes too slow and goes too fast" nick said laughing at them both. Alex as fast as he drives replies with "Well you saved us from having to tell you dude, I asked Marisa to marry me last night and well..." "I said YES" Marisa said with such excitement.

"We gotta talk dude alone if you know what I mean ?" Alex said to Nick

Okay lets go to the back and we talk." Alex gave Marisa a kiss and handed her the cell phone and said "Baby Nick and I are going to the back we need to talk but here is the phone so that you can call the girls and let them know that we need to all get together for dinner tomorrow night kay ?"

"Okay what time and where at the house about 7:00 or 7:30?" Marisa said " Yeah that sounds good to me Baby" Alex said.

So Nick and Alex walked to the back to the sound proof studio Nick was unsure of what Alex had to say and so he was like " So um what's up everything okay I mean you should be the luckiest guy you got Marisa to be your wife and you can be a family man now like Kev and B-rok" Nick said giving Alex a little knock on his arm.

Alex pretending to be mad said "Look dude I know everything I just wished I heard it from you after all of these years you know how could you man I trusted you are like my best friend and I can't cant finish I am just playing" Nick standing there as white as a ghost sighed a breathe and was relieved that Alex was just playing Nick knew how Alex's temper is.

"Really though I wanted us to talk you know alone because I want you to be my right hand man you know dude we are boys and I want you to be with me every step of the way and so what I am trying to say is will you be my best man?" Alex finally got the words out.

"You want me to be your best man dude I will defiantly do it you are like an older bro to be and I would be stupid to say no I love you and Marisa so yes I will be your right and left hand man" Nick said all excited and still recovering from the scare that Alex pulled on him just moments before.

Marisa called Kris and Leigh and told them " Hey I have to talk to you all and it is pretty serious this time can we met tomorrow at my house about 7:00 or 7:30 so that we can talk?" nervous not knowing what to think they asked if thing was o-kay with Alex and her and all she said was " Well that is what we need to talk about please just come over tomorrow night and I will fill you both in then bye" Marisa hung up the phone and thought to herself " I bet they wont know what to think tomorrow" and giggled a little to herself and just then Alex walked out with his arm around Nick and said "Are we ready to go yet baby?"

Marisa said "Yes and Nick don't tell anyone you are the only one of the guys to know and I want to keep it that way I invited the girls over for dinner I made it seem as if I needed to talk about problems for Alex and I because I want to really surprise them please keep it just between us" she begged and Nick said " Hey it is not my place to say anything so sure it is a deal no one knows anything from me" with that I am so innocent face.

Marisa and Alex went home to relax since they had been out all day. Denise knew that Marisa may forget to call her so she called and left a message on the house phone " Hey you two love birds I am calling to remind my daughter in law not to forget to call me so that we can talk wedding talk so call me when you get in love you Alex bye."

When Marisa heard the message she realized that she had forgotten all about that and was glad that Mama D called like she did.

Marisa went up and called Mama D from the bedroom phone and told her "Well we can meet on Monday after this weekend cause Alex and I are planning on telling the guys about the engagement and talk about when we should come out and tell everyone you know kind of ease the heart ache of the fans I am hoping that all of his fans will support us and him still after this" Marisa said concerned to Denise

"Well I think if they are loyal fans then they will support him no matter what he does and I think that everyone has seen the ups and downs of the two of you and the past 2 years have been great for both of you no more girls on the side and no more fights for fans to see I think you two have grown especially my son he needed the time that you left him to see what a great thing he had and he has been trying his best to keep you for good now I think it really scared him that he could not buy you things and expect you to forgive him and forget I don't think that ever worked I think that you love him so much that you wanted to forget everything I am sure that you and Alex have put it all behind you now for good right ?"

" Yes I am hoping that when we get married it is a fresh start and don't let all of the things that have come between us in the past happen again.

"Well Mama D I am going to go in and check on this man he was so sleepy on the ride him I bet he fell asleep in the theater again I will call you tomorrow and good night love you bye" Marisa said

"Love you too sweet and tell my son I love him and you both come and see me I go back to Florida on Wednesday so lets get together just you and I on Tuesday for a girls dinner k? Well talk to you soon bye" Denise said.

Marisa went into the theater room and saw Alex fast asleep watching a movie he looked so peaceful she went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. She got out and put on a nighty and went back to the theater room and saw Alex was still there a sleep she snuggled up into his side and placed her hand on his chest as she usually does to go to bed. With the smell of his cologne and the beat of his heart in her ear she could go to sleep peacefully.
