Traci walked around her huge home, feeling nothing but her head throbbing. She needed some human contact but who could she call? Carla wasn’t talking to her, she had to stay away from AJ and Vin wouldn’t return her calls. The last time she had seen him was 2 weeks prior, after he hit J and stormed out of her hospital room. The tears wouldn’t stop coming. She had never felt this alone in her entire life!
The phone rang and she jumped.
"I’m just calling to see how you feel," Vin said softly, that beautiful voice of his feeling so good to her now.
"I’m okay. I - uh - don’t know what to say to you right now to not make you hang up on me," she said, tears still burning her face.
"I won’t hang up. I love you Traci, you know that. But I can’t just forget this ever happened," he said, sounding so depressed.
" I know. Please come see me. I need you so much right now," she said.
"I feel like I will never be enough for you, not after this," he said.
"That’s not true! I fucked up, I know that. Just come over and be my friend. Please Vin, I am asking you as a friend and that’s it," she said and he agreed.
He walked in and she could have sworn she was in heaven. He was wearing jeans and a tight white t shirt and he remembered how it felt to be in his arms as he took her in them. She was amazed that he did that but didn’t complain.
"You still look beautiful. I can’t stop thinking about you," he whispered, caressing her hair and she took his hand and led him to the sofa.
"I am not sure what to say to you but let me try," she said, her hand on his leg.
"No. I don’t want to talk about this, ever again," he said and she was silenced by his lips on hers. His tongue found hers and caressed it gently. She melted into him and he moved her on to his lap, rubbing her back as they continued to kiss.
He started to remove the sweater she had on but she stopped him.
"Wait. I can’t do this right now," she said.
"What? Are you thinking about him?" Vin asked, looking angry all over again.
"No!!!! I am worried about Carla. She won’t talk to me," Traci said, moving off his lap.
"Do you blame her? You fucked her man!" Vin said.
"Okay I thought we weren’t going to talk about this," she said.
"Well I thought I could get over it. But like I said, I am not enough for you," he said, getting up and heading towards the door.
"Wait Vin! You are enough. Please don’t leave me," she cried.
"You left me long ago baby," he said and he was gone. She fell to the floor, sobbing, not knowing what her next step was.
