Part Five:The Dream Of A Lifetime:Last Chance

Chapter 1
Friday, January 10, 2003

“Kev, where’s my sexy fiancé?” Valondra asked smiling as Kevin walked from the stage.

“Behind Brian,” Kevin said.

“Thanks,” Valondra said as Alexander spied her and she put her finger to her lips. “Shh!” He just smiled and nodded while walking by. Valondra spied Nickolas, who wasn’t paying attention and smiled. He walked by not noticing her and she followed behind a few seconds. She grabbed his arm and spun him around, kissing him before he noticed her. Without hesitation and knowing it was his fiancée, Nickolas kissed her in return. He lifted her off her feet and she wrapped her legs around his waist.

“Maybe you should be gone more often,” Nickolas said between kisses.

“Why’s that?” Valondra asked looking at him.

“Because your kisses are more enjoyable.” He smiled and kissed her again.

“You think my kisses are more enjoyable; wait until we’re alone.”

“Don’t tease, Summers.” She smirked.

“I ain’t.” She kissed him again, this time slipping her tongue in his mouth. As she did that, Nickolas’ arousal grew more and he put her up against the wall. “Don’t tease, Carter.”

“I ain’t.” He kissed her neck and she left out a soft moan. “You would like this.”

“Only when you’re doing it.” He took his tongue up her neck and she spied Alexander and Charisma. “Nicky, maybe we should stop.”

“Why?” He looked at her.

“Alex and Riz are watching.”

He looked. “Oh.”

Alexander and Charisma laughed and Charisma asked, “Don’t you get enough of each other?”

“No,” Valondra and Nickolas replied.

“Of course not,” Alexander said.

“She was gone five months,” Nickolas stated.

“It’s only January,” Charisma said. “I thought you were coming home next month?” Valondra smiled.

“You lied?” Nickolas said.

“I wanted to surprise you,” Valondra replied. “I wanted to make my return more enjoyable.”

“I am surprised and it’ll be more enjoyable,” Nickolas said. “I promise.” He kissed her.

“And we’re heading home,” Alexander said. “See ya’s tomorrow.”

“Bye,” Valondra said and Alexander and Charisma walked away.

“Why don’t we go home ourselves,” Nickolas suggested. “We’ll have the place to ourselves.”

“First you’re showering.”

“I’ll just need another one.”

“You stink and it’s turning me off.”

“You’re funny.” She smiled. “Let’s go.” He kissed her and carried her out.

Valondra stood in the middle of her room and looked around. She looked at all the pictures of her and Nickolas. It was her shrine of the past four and a half years she and Nickolas were together. She wouldn’t change anything if she got the chance. Then again maybe just one thing. The moment in her life she wanted to forget. She sighed and looked at the picture of her and Nickolas from Brian and Rachel’s wedding. The picture Ariel took to remind her that they belong together. The picture of Nickolas putting the garter on her leg and the loving look they shared. It has to be her favorite picture to date. There were other great ones of the two of them, but this one meant more. Even though they were going through a tough time they couldn’t hide their love and they just showed it more.

She took the picture off the wall and sat on the bed looking at it. God, she wanted him that night. Nothing else mattered to her except being with him…and becoming his wife. She looked at the ring on her finger. Almost two years and still no wedding. It’s not because they didn’t set a date, because they did, but because something would always happen to stop them. Valondra was still afraid of it, but it’s what she wanted. It’s what she wanted with Nickolas and no one else. A tear slid down her cheek as she pictured another ring beside it and Nickolas walked out of the bathroom.

“Hey, Princess.”

She quickly wiped her tears. “Hey.” He went to kiss her but stopped. “What?”

“Were you crying?” He raised an eyebrow.

“Yawning.”

“I might believe ya.”

“Fine don’t.”

“Four years and I know when you lie.” They looked at each other. “What’s wrong?” She shook her head and got up.

“Nothing.” She put the picture back. “How was your shower?”

“Lonely.” He walked over to her and put his arms around her. “It would’ve been better if you were there.”

“Next time, Baby.” She kissed him.

“You were crying.”

“I was not.”

“I could taste the salt from your tears.”

“Whatever. You just wish I was so you could make me feel better.”

“There’s no harm in that.” He smiled. “I like making you feel better.” She gave a little grin. “So tell Nicky what’s wrong.”

“Not a thing, Nickolas. I’m fine and happy.”

“No you’re not.”

“Yes I am.”

“No.”

“Yes and if you don’t stop bothering me I won’t be fine.”

“Sure ya won’t.”

“I’m fine, Nicky.” He gave a disgusted look.

“We have to go for a ride.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her out.
