"Brian, come here quick!” Rachel yelled from the downstairs bathroom.

“What’s the matter?” Brian questioned two seconds later after joining his wife. “Is everything all right?”

“I’m pregnant.”

“What?”

“I just took one of those home pregnancy tests and it’s positive.”

“D-D-D-Did ya do it right?”

“Yeah.”

“Wow!” He kissed her.

“I want to go to the doctor first though just to make sure.”

“Right. I’ll go call Dr. Jeffres right now.”

“Brian.”

“Yeah.”

“I’m so excited.”

“So am I, Baby.” He kissed her again. “This could be the shot of a great future together.”

“I hope so.” They kissed again.

“I’m going to go make that appointment.”

“Ok. I’m going to finish here.” They both smiled and Brian left the bathroom.

“Morning,” Kevin said when Alyssa stepped into the kitchen.

“Morning,” Alyssa said walking over to Kevin at the stove. They kissed and Alyssa said, “I smelled something good so I had to investigate. Plus you weren’t beside me when I woke up.”

“I’m sorry. I was going to bring you breakfast.”

She smiled. “I’m hoping you had a fun time last night since a certain short brunette we both know didn’t.”

“Lon?”

“The only brunette I know that was at the party ready to kill someone.”

“I feel bad that she didn’t have a good time.”

“You started it.”

“I know and I hate myself. I’m going to see if she wants to go get pampered sometime…on me. To make it up to her.”

“I’m sure she’ll be thrilled.”

“I just wish I didn’t mention that bitch’s name. Maybe if I didn’t she wouldn’t have showed up.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I should call her and see how she’s doing.”

“Probably no better than last night.”

“I’ll only know if I call her.”

“I know, but let’s have breakfast first.”

“Ok.” They kissed and Alyssa smiled.

“Howie, I want to talk to ya for a minute,” Lillie said as Howard looked at her.

“What about?” Howard asked.

“Last night.”

“What about it?”

“I’ve been thinking about what Farah and Bridgett said.” He looked at her interested. “I don’t believe them or anything, but I still want to hear from you that there ain’t any truth behind it.”

He didn’t know what to say as he looked at her. “Well…”

“I know there’s not. I just want to hear you say it.” She looked at him tentatively.

“Of course not.” He smiled. “I wouldn’t do that to you.”

“I know.” She kissed him. “I was just making sure.”

“Ok. I love you.”

“I love you too.” They smiled. “I’m going to go get Lon a gift to make her feel better. I know last night really upset her with those two being there.”

“Yeah; I feel bad for her.”

“Farah use to be so nice, now she’s an evil little bitch. I can’t believe how bad she changed since that year with Kevin.”

“People do change.”

“Like she did. How can ya go from being so sweet to being so evil like Farah did?”

“I don’t know, Sweetie, but I didn’t change.”

“That’s good. Neither did I.”

“Good.” He kissed her.

“So nothing’s going on with you and Riz?”

“No.” He smiled.

“Just making sure again.” They laughed and she kissed him.

Valondra climbed out of bed and walked into the bathroom just as Nickolas turned off the shower. She just blocked everything out and thought about Nickolas as she got ready for her shower. She walked over to the towel closet and reached up to the top shelf. She tired to get the towel as hands went around her bare waist then lips on her neck.

“Wow! You are so unbelievably sexy.”

“Nick, what the hell are you doing?” She tried to push him away as he turned her to face him. He looked at her and smiled. “Nick, please don’t.” He continued smiling and looked her over, as his arousal grew.

“Nice.” He kissed her. “So this is what you look like naked. I don’t think I can control my excitement.” He pushed her up against the shelf.

“Nicky.”

“I’m covered.” He gave a slick grin and Valondra looked down, but noticed his arousal. “But that can all change in a matter of minutes.” He kissed her and she kissed him in return, putting her arms around his neck.

“Mmm…Nick.” She pressed her body tight against him and he picked her up. She wrapped her legs around him and he held her against the wall.

“Loni…I want you.” She only moaned in response and he slipped his tongue in her mouth. He took a hand up to her breast and started caressing it. She moaned in his mouth as he took his thumb over her nipple. He worked his kisses down to her neck then started down her chest, but she quickly stopped him.

“Nick, stop. Please.” She pushed his head away from her chest and he looked at her. “I can’t, Nicky; I’m sorry.” He sighed disappointingly and set her on her feet. She picked up a dirty towel and wrapped it around her. She turned from him and he made her look at him.

“Loni…”

“I want you, Nick; but I can’t. Not now.”

“I understand and I’m sorry. I didn’t mean…”

“It ain’t your fault what happened here. I should’ve paid more attention to notice if anyone was in here.”

“Don’t blame yourself either, because I won’t let ya, ya know.” He kissed her lightly. “We are mature adults though so we should handle this situation the right way.” She looked at him. “Don’t blame each other and take full responsibility of our actions.”

“You’re starting to sound like Kevin and it’s scary.”

“Sorry. I just want to sound more mature and responsible for ya.”

“I love you just the way you are.” He smiled. “If you’re done in here I’d like to shower.”

“Sure.” He kissed her again then got a clean towel off the shelf. “Here ya go.”

‘Thanks.” She watched him walk to the door then turn and look at her. “What?”

“I just want you to know that if you need any help with those hard to reach places just let me know. I’m more than willing to help you out.” He gave her his sexy smile and she just grinned and shook her head. “Just holler if ya need me.”

“Ya know I will.”

“Good.”

“Get out of here.” He winked and she watched him walk into his room and close the door. She stood there a moment thinking then got in the shower.

“Nick, I just want you to think about what I said,” Jane said following her son into the parlor. “You’re young yet.”

“But I’m in love,” Nickolas pointed out getting disgusted. “I love Lon and I’m not breaking the engagement off.”

“Then consider postponing it.”

“Mom, wasn’t it you that told me to follow my heart?”

“Yes.”

“My heart led me to Loni the moment I saw her and it does every time I look at her or even think about her.” Jane, Angel, Aaron, and Bobbie looked at him. “My heart told me to propose to Lon and I did. My heart’s telling me to have this wedding and I’m going to. You can’t change my mind about it. I’m sorry.” He sat on the sofa as Valondra walked down the stairs. “I love Loni with all my being and we’re getting married in the summer.” Valondra stood on the bottom step and looked at them.

“Honey, you should just give it some more thought. You’re going to be 22.”

“You were young when you married dad. Why is it different with me?”

“I just want the best for you.”

He stood up. “Lon’s the best thing that ever came into my life, outside my music, and I’m happy.”

“Jane, just leave him go,” Robert said walking in with Leslie. “His mind is made up.”

“Thank you, dad.”

“I just want my son to be with the right girl,” Jane stated.

“I am.” He just looked at her.

“What?”

“Damn it. Loni is right.”

“About what?” Aaron questioned.

“You don’t like her. She noticed it right away, but I told her she was overreacting, ya know. She wasn’t though. You do hate her. What’s to hate about her? She’s sweet, caring, beautiful, intelligent…stop me when I’m wrong you guys, but Lon’s everything I imagined she’d be.”

“I don’t hate, Lon,” Jane said. “She is very sweet.”

“If you don’t hate her then you’re just pissed that I found someone I can turn to and trust more than anything. It pisses you off that it ain’t you anymore I go to with my problems and that it happens to be Loni, my fiancée. Mom, Lon and I don’t keep things from each other. When we have a problem we go to each other and help the other through it. I’m sorry that bothers you so much. I’m sorry your little boy is growing up and that he fell in love. Everyone does someday and my time is now.”

“Nick, I’m happy for you. I really am. I just feel like I’m losing you.”

“You’re not. I’m here right now, aren’t I?” They all just looked at him. “I just fell in love, mom, and I want to be with Lon the way you want to be with dad. It’s no different.”

“You’re right. I’m sorry. I just miss my little boy coming to me all the time.”

“Well, get use to it,” Robert said. “Because it ain’t going to change anytime soon. He has Valondra now.”

“Lucky guy,” Aaron said from the sofa.

“You’re second on my list, Aaron,” Valondra said from the stairs and they all looked.

“How about one and a half?” Aaron suggested. “That’s better than two.”

“Ok,” Valondra said laughing.

“Get over here,” Nickolas said smiling and she walked over to him. “Tell my mother how much you love me.” She just looked at him. “Go on. Do it.”

“Nicky, the way I love you is indescribable,” Valondra said. “I can’t explain it. I do love your son, Mrs. C.”

“’Jane’ please,” Jane said. “I can tell you do.”

“Then what’s the problem?” Nickolas asked. “There’s still got to be a problem you’re having with Loni.”

“I don’t have a problem with Loni.”

“Good. I trust that you’re not lying to me.”

“I’m not, Honey. You have my word.”

“If I find out you’re lying I swear…”

“Baby, don’t,” Valondra said stopping him. “She’s your mother.”

“I’m sorry. I just want you to respect the fact that Loni’s in my life forever and we’re getting married.”

“I will, Nick,” Jane said. “I want the best for you both.”

“Thank you.”

“Ok, so who wants to go out for breakfast?” Robert asked.

“I do!” the kids yelled.

“What about you two?” Robert asked Nickolas and Valondra.

“It’s up to Loni,” Nickolas replied.

“If you want to,” Valondra said. “I don’t care.”

“Ok,” Nickolas said. “We’ll go.”

“I’m riding with Nick,” Aaron said.

“So am I,” Leslie replied. “That leaves us with mom and dad, Angel,” Bobbie said. “Again.”

“We never get to right with Nick,” Angel pointed out. “Just because we don’t sing.”

“I know what ya mean,” Bobbie assured her.

“Then you two ride with me and Lon,” Nickolas said. “Les and AC can go with mom and dad.”

“But…” Aaron wanted to argue.

“No buts, Aaron,” Nickolas stated. “I’m leaving in two days so let’s just get along.” He looked at Valondra. “I want to talk to ya then.”

“Alright,” Valondra said as they all walked out of the house.
