*~The Dream Of A Lifetime~*

Chapter 2

“Hey, Nick,” Brian said joining him on the back patio. “What’s wrong with Loni?”

“A mixture of things,” Nickolas replied. “Why?”

“She just spazzed out on Rachel in the kitchen.”

“What was Lon doing?”

“Sitting at the table. Rachel just looked at her and Loni said something about Rachel accusing her of being addicted to painkillers.”

“It’s my fault. I confronted Lon about her painkillers and now she’s mad at me. She’s also mad about my mom hating her and that Alyssa mentioned Bridgett’s name.”

“Wow. Ya try to have a good night and ya can’t. She’ll get over it, Nick.”

“I’m worried about her, Brian. I already saw her take three in one day. She was going to do it again today, but I stopped her.”

“Nick, it’s just her knee. Ever since she cracked it off the pavement, she’s been having problems with it. She’s not addicted. You know how the pain gets to her.”

“I can’t help but worry about her.”

“Then pay for her surgery.”

“I already suggested it, but she said no.”

“Insist upon it, Nick.”

“I don’t want her mad at me.”

“If you want her healthy you’ll make her get the surgery. If you love her you won’t let her live with the pain.”

“Brian, it’s perfectly clear she don’t want me to pay for her surgery. I could kill Chris for making Lon go through this.”

“Nick, you know he didn’t mean it. It was just a friendly game of basketball and he ran into her. Lon’s not holding it against him so you shouldn’t either.”

“You’re right. I’m just upset. He took a deep breath. “I’m upset that Lon might get addicted to painkillers. I’m upset that my mother doesn’t like her. I’m upset because I’m afraid of what Loni will do if she saw Bridgett again. My life…” He was interrupted by yelling coming from inside.

“Get the hell out of this house!”

“That’s Loni.” He ran inside.

“Get off me!” Valondra yelled trying to free herself from Howard and Alexander’s hold. “Let me at her! That bitch is going to wish she never stepped foot in this house! Leave me go!”

“What’s going on?” Nickolas questioned and suddenly stopped. “Bridgett, what the hell are you doing here?”

“I came to see you,” Bridgett said smiling.

“The only person you’ll be seeing is the doctor,”

Valondra replied fighting Howard and Alexander. “Didn’t I promise you I’d do more than punch you in the face if I ever saw you again?”

“Here I am if you think you’re man enough, bitch,” Bridgett said and Valondra got a few inches closer. “Leave her go, because I want to see if she’s got the guts.”

“I’m going to rip you to pieces! And feed each piece to the sharks! Get off me!”

“Loni, calm down,” Nickolas said stepping in front of her. Valondra just glared at Bridgett. “Leave now, Bridgett.”

“They said the party was for everyone,” Bridgett stated.

“Everyone excluding you.”

“I want you to meet a friend of mine.” “The only thing you’ll be meeting is my fist,” Valondra warned. “Unless you leave in the next five seconds.”

“Lon!” Nickolas said. “Enough. Bridgett, I advise you to do as she says.”

“Or what?” Bridgett asked. “I’m not scared of her.” They all just looked at the two girls. “Oh, meet my friend, Farah Brown.” Everyone looked and saw Farah walk in the room.

“Why can’t a good day be a good day?” Valondra wanted to know.

“Because people like you don’t deserve it,” Bridgett said. “Farah, what are you doing here?” Lillie questioned.

“Came to see old friends,” Farah answered. “Better watch it, Lil, Riz wants your man. She even wants Nicky Boy.”

“Yeah, Nick,” Bridgett chimed in, “you better keep an eye on JC Chasez, because he’s in love with Loni and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lon wants him. I mean, she already kissed Trace and they probably did more too.” Nickolas glared at Bridgett as he stepped aside.

He hit Howard and Howard and Alexander left Valondra go. They watched Valondra go after Bridgett and pin her up against the wall. “What are you going to do, Loni? Kill me?”

“No, because I ain’t that stupid,” Valondra rebutted. “I’m just going to keep a promise.”

“And go to jail. I have witnesses.”

“Who? These guys? They saw nothing.” Bridgett looked at her and everyone else. “It’s your word against the rest of us.”

“I don’t see why Nick’s with you.” Valondra’s hold got tighter. “You’re psychotic. You need help. I feel sorry for him.”

“You’re the psychotic one here. It’s over between you and Nick and you can’t see that. He’s marrying me and you can’t stop it from happening.”

“Watch me.” Valondra put her arm across Bridgett’s neck.

“Loni,” Nickolas said.

“No. Leave her,” Bridgett replied and looked Valondra in the eye. “I want to see if she’s got it in her. She really doesn’t strike me as the type who will commit cold-blooded murder.” Valondra’s grip got tighter. “Unless she absolutely had to.” Valondra just glared at her. “Are you going to murder me so you don’t lose your man? You’ll lose him anyway, because why would he want to marry someone who’s a murderer.”

“Loni, leave her go,” Charisma pleaded.

“Why?” Valondra asked. “I’m not going to kill her.

I’m just going to scare her.” The two girls glared at each other for the longest time and everyone watched them. After almost ten minutes, Valondra said, “Get out of her you stupid bitch. You’re not worth it.” She pushed Bridgett to the floor and Nickolas quickly grabbed Valondra’s arm and pulled her to him.

“I could have you arrested,” Bridgett said as Farah helped her up.

“You have no witnesses,” Alexander said. “Because I saw nothing and neither did anyone else.”

“You’re going to pay.”

“Just get the hell out,” Nickolas said.

“I never want to see you again,” Valondra said. “If I do I promise I’ll mess up your pretty little face.”

“Are you threatening me now?” Bridgett asked.

“I don’t make threats. I make promises.”

“You’re pathetic, Lon,” Farah said. “No wonder you never had a boyfriend.”

“Do you want a piece of this too?” Nickolas held her back. “I can kick your ass. I have good reason to do it too.”

“Why’s that?” “That stint back in ’99 when we were in Vegas. Did you forget about that?”

“Of course not. I had Nick believing you and Kev were having an affair.”

“I was wrong too,” Nickolas stated. “I then realized you were just like Bridgett. Not happy unless you were destroying someone else’s life.”

“Just Lon’s.” Valondra tried to get out of Nickolas’ hold. “I saw how happy she was with you and I didn’t like it. Just like I didn’t like her with Fox. That breakup there worked.” She smiled.

“Get out. Both of you.”

“You can’t kick us out,” Bridgett said.

“It’s my house. I can do whatever I want.”

Ignoring what Nickolas said, Bridgett asked, “Lil, Alex, did Riz and Howie tell you about their secret meetings with each other? They get a little lip action going on.” Everyone looked at Charisma and Howard then back at Bridgett and Farah. “I ain’t lying. We’ve seen them in the park together.”

“Whatever,” Alexander said.

“How’d you find out about JC?” Valondra questioned. “No one knows about that except for Justin, Toni, and Trace.”

“We bugged your house,” Farah said. “You’ll be surprised of what we hear.”

“I can have you arrested for breaking and entering.”

“Whatever,” Bridgett said. “We should really go. We just wanted to see what the party was like.”

“Sorry we crashed it,” Farah said. “Not.” She and Bridgett laughed and turned to leave. They started walking and then stopped at the foyer entrance.

“Oh, yes, one more thing,” Bridgett began turning around, “you might want to watch Lon with those painkillers, Nick; she takes more than she’s supposed to in one day.” Valondra tried going after her, but Nickolas held her back as the two girls left.

“Let me get her,” Valondra said.

“No,” Nickolas said. “She ain’t worth it, Baby.”

They looked at each other. “Do you promise not to go after her?” She stayed silent. “Do you?” She nodded. “I want to hear you say it.”

“Yeah, I promise not to go after her.” He left her go. “After I go after her.” She ran from Nickolas and he ran after her.

“Valondra!” Everyone followed. Nickolas got to the front door and went out as Valondra ran off the porch. “Loni!” He ran off the porch after her and caught her as she approached Bridgett and Farah. “They’re not worth it, Baby.”

“They ruined my party and they’re going to wish they didn’t. Leave me go.”

“Not until you get a grip. Back inside.”

“The only grip I want to get is around their necks.”

“Valondra…”

“You can’t tell me what to do.”

“I’m just saving you from making a terrible mistake.” He picked her up and put her over his shoulder. “You two leave.” He turned around and started walking back to the house.

“I never want to see your faces again! You see me walking down the street you better turn the opposite way! I’m not joking either! Put me down, Nickolas!”

“When pigs fly.”

Farah and Bridgett watched them go inside then Farah asked, “Are you all right?”

“Yeah,” Bridgett said. “She just scared me. I’ll be fine.”

“Are ya sure?”

She nodded. “That girl’s psychotic.”

“You’re not telling me anything new.” They watched Nickolas carry Valondra inside then turned and left.
