That same night, Valondra and Nickolas were at Nickolas’ house. They wanted to celebrate their engagement in private and in their own special way. They told everyone else they were going to dinner and a movie so they wouldn’t be bothered. They sat in Nickolas’ parlor, with Nickolas sitting on the sofa watching Valondra, as she laid in front of the candlelit fireplace.

They looked at each other, smiled, and Valondra said, “I love you.”

“I love you.”

“Come lay with me.” She patted the spot beside her. “I’m beginning to miss you.”

“Well, we’ll just have to fix that.” He walked over and laid down beside her. Valondra kissed him and said, “Here have a pillow.”

“What about you?” He lifted his head and Valondra stuck the pillow under.

“Don’t worry about me. I have a pillow…you.” She smiled and kissed him then laid her head on his chest. Nickolas put his arms around her and asked, “Princess, are you happy?”

“That was a stupid question. Of course I’m happy. Really, I’m only this happy when I’m with you. We’ve been together so long, Nick, that now I can’t even think about a life without you. You are a very huge part of my life and honestly I wouldn’t know what to do without you.”

“I’m glad you feel the same way I do.” He kissed the top of her head. “I was beginning to wonder.”

“Jerk.” She playfully slapped him.

“I’m kidding, so don’t skitz out on me.” She moved to where she was lying on top of him and kissed him.

“Do you think we’ll always be this happy?”

“Of course, Babe. We’ll be happier than this actually.” Valondra just looked at him. “Because we’ll have a bunch of little me’s running around.”

“Oh really? I don’t think so.”

“Yeah, because you’re going to let me impregnate you at least a dozen times and they’re all going to be boys.”

“I’m going to let you do that to me?” He nodded and smiled. “Maybe in the next lifetime, but not this one.”

“You know I make you so horny.” He smirked.

“You’re so full of yourself. You ain’t all that and a bag of chips, Mister.”

“Yes I am.” He kissed her.

“Then only to me you are.” Valondra kissed him and they laid there kissing for a few moments before the phone started ringing. Valondra stopped the kiss and looked at Nickolas, as he grinned. “I hope you’re not going to answer that.”

“No, because we’re having dinner and a movie.”

“You could’ve at least turned the ringer off.” He smiled. “But you’re not that smart.” She got up, as the answering machine picked up.

“You could’ve turned it off yourself.”

“I thought you would’ve thought of it. Besides, it ain’t my phone.”

“Don’t get cute.”

She just smiled, as Alexander’s voice came over the machine, “Hey, ladies, it’s me. Whatcha doin’? I hope it’s nothing that I do. Even if it is just remember that I do it way better than you. That’s not why I’m calling though. I just want to let ya’ll know that Riz and I are leaving for Puerto Rico tonight or possibly morning and won’t be back until whenever. Try not to miss us. See ya’s later.” They heard a click and looked at each other.

“He called just to tell us that,” Nickolas said. “Like I care where he’s going.”

“Well ya should,” Valondra said turning the ringer off on the phone and rejoining him.

“Why?”

“Because he’s one of your best friends and if anything happens ya need to be able to find him. I’m glad I know where Riz is going to be.”

“But he’s not you so I really don’t care right now.” She laid on top of him and he kissed her. “I just care about you at the moment and nothing else.”

“I think I can handle that, because I’m just caring about you right now too.”

“Goody goody.” He went to kiss her, but she went straight to his neck and kissed it. “You really know how to turn a guy on, Princess.”

“I know. That’s why Fox calls me a tease.”

“I have to agree with him.” She looked at him. “Don’t stop.”

“You’re agreeing with Fox on something?”

“It’s not the first.”

“Really?”

“Yeah; I agree with him on his great taste in women.” She just looked at him and he flipped her onto her back. “You.” He kissed her. “You’re very doable.”

“Nickolas, we had this conversation.”

“I know, but I’m just being honest.”

“As you always are.”

“Well excuse me if I think you’re sex worthy.” She looked at him unamused and he kissed her neck. “I’m sure the thought of getting into my pants hasn’t crossed your mind more than once.”

“Well…maybe.” He looked at her and smiled. “But not every six seconds like you have been doing. Women can control themselves unlike men.”

“I can control myself.”

“Right and that’s why something is digging into me.” He gave a guilty smile and kissed her. “I think you need to take a cold shower.”

“Will you join me?” She pinched his sides. “Ow! Gees woman. I was kidding.”

“I’m sure you were.”

“I was.” He kissed her before she could say anything else. They kissed a few moments before Nickolas started pushing Valondra’s shirt up. She pushed his hands down, but he kept doing it. Each time she pushed his hands away and each time he did it again; not taking a hint.

“Nick…” Valondra said between kisses, as Nickolas pushed her shirt up again. “Nicky…what are you doing?”

“Touching and kissing your nice soft smooth skin.” He kissed her neck.

“No…you’re…” She didn’t finish as Nickolas covered her lips with his own.

They continued kissing and Nickolas said, “You make me crazy for your love, Loni.” Valondra just kissed him and again he tried pushing her shirt up. She pushed his hands down again. “Nick, I’m being serious…” He continued kissing her. “What are you doing?”

“Something we both want.” He tried pushing her shirt up again.

“Nick, stop it!” She pushed him off her and she sat up.

“What’s wrong?”

She fixed her shirt and looked at him. “You know what’s wrong. You also know how I feel about having sex before marriage.”

He looked at her ashamed. “I know and I’m sorry.”

“It’s just that I want the first time we make love to be on a very special night…on our wedding night.”

“I love you, Lon.”

“And I love you. Believe me, Baby; I want us to go all the way as much as you want us to.”

“I’m sorry. It’s just that we’ll be together for three years next month and I’m so ready for us to take that big step, ya know. I’m so in love with you and you make me so crazy.”

“I know and I’m not ready. When I am you’ll definitely be the first to know.”

“I didn’t mean to upset you.” He put his arms around her.

“It was kind of cute in a way, but I’d appreciate it if it didn’t happen again unless I give you my ok.”

“Whatever you want.” He kissed her and she kissed him in return. He moved down to her neck. “I want you so bad, Baby, I can’t help myself.” Valondra just smiled, leaving Nickolas kiss her. He put his hand on her shoulder and began to move her shirt strap down.

Valondra pushed him away and said, “I can’t do this, Nick.” She got up and he watched her walk away.

“Loni!” He got up and started after her. “Princess, wait!” He got to the foyer and saw the door close.

“Loni!” He went and opened the door and stepped outside just as she drove off. “Idiot!”

He stood there a moment then went back inside. He knew to leave Valondra alone when she got like this. He also knew she would want to think and then call him in the morning. He sat on the sofa feeling like an ass. He did one thing he didn’t want to do to upset her and he did it anyway. Making himself miserable in the process and angering her.
