Valondra and Antoinette sat and watched the Backstreet Boys rehearse for their show that night. They were having *NSync as a special guest that night and they all were just hanging around. Lillie, Rachel, and Farah were out enjoying the beautiful scenery and stopping at the local McDonald’s to get everyone a bite to eat.

“I’m really having fun this summer, Toni,” Valondra said. “We get to travel the country, be with our best friends, and to top it off we’re with a bunch of hot guys.”

“Yep, it’s really great,” Antoinette said sarcastically.

“Are you still bumming over your breakup with Alex?” Valondra asked. “Remember, Toni, you’re the one that called it quits and not him.”

“I know, but he hardly speaks to me now and I feel like it’s all my fault. What should I do?”

“Well just give him time to think about what happened and see what happens. You two broke up, what, two weeks ago. Some people just need a little longer to get on with their lives and I guess Alex is one of them.”

“Maybe I need someone to help me get over Alex.”

“You could do that, but don’t you think it’s a little soon?”

“I guess so, but it’s driving me nuts being here with Alex and not having it the way it use to be.”

“Then why the hell did you breakup with him?”

“I don’t know. I guess it just wasn’t working out like we thought it was.” Valondra looked at her. “Ok, I really didn’t think it was working at all.”

“Why not?”

“I don’t know. He’s just not what I’m looking for.”

“Right.”

“He’s a great guy and all, but just not for me.”

“If you say. It’s your choice.” She grinned. “So who do you think is for you?”

Antoinette smiled and said, “Justin or JC.”

“I’ll hook ya up, Toni. Which one first?”

“I don’t care. It doesn’t have to be Justin or JC.”

“Alright, whatever guy comes over first that’s who you’re hooking up with.”

“Ok, if you say so.” Valondra smiled and Nickolas started walking over to them.

“Except Nick Carter, because he’s mine and off the market.”

“Uh huh.” Nickolas sat down between the two girls and gave Valondra a kiss.

“Are you talking about me?” Nickolas asked.

“No,” Valondra said. “What gives you that idea?”

“Nothing,” Nickolas said. “Just that I heard my name mentioned in your conversation.”

“Really, Nick, we weren’t talking about you,” Valondra assured him. “So don’t argue with me, because you’re not going to win.”

“Don’t give me that shit,” Nickolas said. “What were ya saying?”

“Nothing,” Valondra replied. “We were just talking about Toni and Alex’s breakup. It wasn’t about you.” He just looked at her. “Gees, Nickolas, get over it. All I said was that you were off the market and she couldn’t have you.”

“So you were talking about me,” Nickolas said.

“Chill, Carter,” Antoinette rebutted. “It was just a sentence.”

“Right,” Nickolas said looking back at Valondra.

“Ugh, Nick, just leave it go already,” Valondra said, as she saw Joshua. “Hey, JC, come here. I need you.”

“Sure,” Joshua said walking over to her. “What’s up?”

“Go ahead and change the subject,” Nickolas said. “I don’t care.”

“Oh quit being a baby, Nick,” Valondra said. “Anyway, JC, I was wondering if you would like to go out with…”

“Not with you,” Nickolas said.

“No, Bonehead,” Valondra began, “with Toni.”

“Yeah sure,” Joshua replied. “We can do that.” He looked at Antoinette and smiled. “When we leave.”

“Do ya hear that, Toni?” Valondra asked and Antoinette ignored them. “Uh, Toni, earth to Antoinette.” Antoinette just sat there in her own little world until Valondra slapped her leg.

“Ouch,” was what came out of Antoinette’s mouth, as she looked at Valondra. “What the hell do you want?”

“You just missed the conversation didn’t you?” Valondra asked, as Nickolas kissed her neck.

“Yeah sorry,” Antoinette apologized. “What’d I miss?”

“Me asking JC to go out with you and him saying ‘yes’,” Valondra replied, as Nickolas continued kissing her neck. “Stop it, you.” She pushed his head away. “Didn’t I say I’d hook ya up?”

“Yeah, I guess so,” Antoinette said. “I guess I should say thanks.”

“It would be nice,” Valondra stated, as Nickolas started kissing her neck again.

“Thank you,” Antoinette said getting up.

“Where are ya going?” Valondra asked.

“For a walk,” Antoinette said. “Ya don’t have far to walk unless ya leave,” Nickolas said, as Antoinette walked away.

“Nick, leave her go,” Valondra said. “She has a lot on her mind.”

“What is your problem with me today, Loni?” Nickolas asked, as Joshua walked away. “Every little thing I say you have a smart cocky comeback.”

“You can tell Toni is still bumming over her breakup with Alex and it looks like you really don’t care about her feelings,” Valondra rebutted. “You’ve been acting like this the past few days.”

“Acting like what?”

“Just like you’re acting now; not caring what others are going through or what they’re thinking. Right now you’re not caring what I think or what my friends feel. If you can’t accept my friends then you can’t accept me. That’s all I have to say.” She got up and Nickolas pulled her down onto his lap.

She didn’t bother looking at him and he said, “I’m sorry, Loni. I wasn’t trying to hurt you or your friends. I was just doing it for fun; ya know trying to lighten the mood. I’m sorry if I hurt their feelings. Forgive me?”

“It’s not their feelings you’re hurting, Baby, it’s mine. I don’t even know if you’re hurting them. I care very much about my friends and care what others think and say that involve them.”

“I’m sorry, Loni D.” He wrapped his arms around her and she looked at him. “I really am. Am I forgiven?”

“I don’t know. If I do that means we’ll kiss and make up and if I don’t it would mean we say we’ll still be friends, go our separate ways, and don’t kiss. I think I’ll go with…”

“Which is it? Yes or no?” “I think I will just because…” Before she could finish Nickolas kissed her.

After the kiss Nickolas asked, “You’re staying with me because?”

“Could you do that kissing thing again, because I don’t think I got it right the first time?”

“Anytime.” He pulled her closer to him and kissed her again. “Why are you staying with me?”

“Because you’re a great kisser and extremely sexy.” She straddled him and put her arms around him, as she kissed him again.
