Jose is over Tyler’s house in the morning after spending the night at Kaci’s house.
“Where was your girl last night?” Tyler asks Jose looking at his laptop.
“With Nick, why?”
“This guy doesn’t look like Nick and that is definitely your girl!” Tyler says turning his computer around to show Jose.
Jose looks at Tyler’s computer to see a picture of Kaci with A.J. by a pool.
“Who is the guy?”
“Where did you find this?”
“On that gossip website that’s featured on AOL.”
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, Kaci and A.J. are relaxing before she goes back to her house.
“So did you enjoy last night?”
“Besides the drama, yes I did, it was very sweet of you to do that for me baby,” Kaci says giving A.J. a kiss.
“Good, I’m glad you did, and I’m sorry for the way I acted,” A.J. says, then goes to kiss Kaci.
A.J. is interrupted by Kaci’s cell phone.
“Don’t answer it,” A.J. insists, continuing to kiss Kaci.
“I have to,” Kaci says looking at her phone. “It’s my dad.”
Kaci steps out onto the balcony to talk to her dad.
“Hi daddy, what’s up?”
“I got a call from your record company. They want to meet with you in Los Angeles on April 29th.”
“But that’s the day after tomorrow!”
“I know, but it sounded extremely important so I told them you would be there and that you would be leaving either tonight or tomorrow morning.”
“Well how am I going to get there?”
“By plane dear, how else?”
“Where am I staying? They can’t do this to me last minute!”
“I will get you a plane ticket and a hotel.”
“But daddy!”
“But nothing Jessica. You are going to Los Angeles for this meeting. We can discuss it when I get home this afternoon.”
“But that’s not going to work. Can I call you back in like ten minutes?”
“I guess that will work. I’m at the airport so make it quick.”
“Alright, I will call you right back.”
Kaci hangs up with her dad and goes back inside the room to talk to A.J.
“What did your dad want?” A.J. asks putting his arms around Kaci.
“I have to go to L.A. ASAP!”
“What’s considered ASAP?”
“Tonight or tomorrow morning!”
“Well, I’ll go with you. You can stay at the house.”
“What about getting there?”
“You can take the jet with me as well. Call your dad back and let him know.”
“I’ll tell him that Nick has to go to L.A. because if I tell him I’m going with you he won’t be happy.”
Kaci walks back outside to call her dad back.
“Daddy,” Kaci says when Robert answers.
“Yes Jess.”
“Can I go to L.A. with Nick? He has to go back tomorrow too and that way I can fly out there with him on their jet and stay at his house instead of having to fly commercial and spend money on a hotel.”
“I guess that will work. When is he leaving?”
“Sometime tomorrow morning.”
“That’s fine. If you want, you can spend the night there tonight, just let your mother know.”
“Alright. I was coming home soon anyways, as soon as we’re dressed and ready to leave from here, so I will let mom know when I get there.”
“How long will you be at the house?”
“I’m not sure, the jet leaves from Orlando, so we have to drive up there first, so we will be leaving tonight some time.”
“Well, I would like to speak with Nick before you leave.”
“Alright, I will let him know. I’ll see you at home then.”
Kaci and her dad hang up and she goes to tell A.J. the good and bad news.
“I have good news and I have bad news.”
“So what’s the good news?”
“My dad agreed to let me fly to California on the jet. And I told him it leaves from Orlando in the morning so we’d have to leave tonight.”
“Okay, so what’s the bad news?”
“I told him I was going with Nick and he would like to see Nick before me and Nick go to Orlando to catch the jet to California!”
“Shit! Well, looks like Nick is going to be in for a huge surprise this morning!”
“Him and Kaley are still here?”
“Yes, they’re still here. Checkout was tomorrow, but I guess it looks like me and you will be checking out tonight.”
“So we can leave from here, that’s perfect!”
“How is that perfect?”
“My dad’s on his way back from Orlando, so it won’t take him but an hour or so to get here. I can call him right back and tell him we’re leaving this afternoon and then we can either really leave then or late tonight.”
“I don’t get it Jess.”
“
"Me and Nick can leave when I call my dad back to let him know the deal.”
“Okay, but it doesn’t take an hour or so to get to your house.”
“Fine, then what do you suggest?”
“I suggest calling your dad, say you’re leaving because you’re in Miami and then leave when he gets here. That way you spend more time with me.”
“Isn’t that what I was suggesting in the first place?”
“No!” A.J. says laughing at Kaci.
A.J. and Kaci get dressed and go down to Nick and Kaley’s room to inform them of the plan for later.
“Open the door Carter,” A.J. says banging on Nick’s door.
“What do you want?” Nick says after opening the door.
“We need to talk,” A.J. says walking into Nick’s hotel room.
“So you just barge in here?”
“The room is in my name, remember that Carter.”
“So what is so important that you had to come down to talk and not just call me?”
“I need you to take Jess to see her dad so that me and her can go to Malibu.”
“Why?”
“She told her dad that you were going to L.A. tonight so that she could go back to L.A. with me. She has business to take care of in L.A. and so instead of flying commercial and staying in a hotel, she’s flying on the jet and staying with me.”
“So why do I need to go talk to Bob?”
“Because we kinda told him that she was going with you and staying with you at your house in L.A.”
“Why am I always brought into these things?”
“Because her dad likes you!”
“Your point?”
“You know had Jess said she was going with me, he wouldn’t let her go! Now are you going to help Jess out or what?”
“Okay fine, what do I need to do?”
“Get dressed and come up to the room.”
“And you couldn’t call me to tell me all this?”
“If I told you to come up to the room, would you have come right away?”
“No.”
“Okay, that’s why we’re here.”
“Fine, but why am I going to L.A. when I don’t have to?”
“You’re not actually going, you’re just telling Robert that you are so that Jess can come with me.”
“So what am I supposed to tell Bob?”
“Tell him that Jive insisted you go back to L.A. because we’re working on a new album.”
“Are we really?”
“Not yet but soon. Anyways, tell him Jess won’t be out of your sight and when you go to the studio, she’ll be with Kaley.”
“He doesn’t know Kaley.”
“He will after this afternoon.”
“And what if he mentions you, then what?”
“Tell him the only time you’ll see me is in the studio and Kaci will be with Kaley then.”
“Are you sure this is going to work?”
“It has to, we got nothing else!”
Kaci’s cell phone rings and it’s her dad.
“It’s my dad!”
“Well answer it, tell him you’re getting ready to leave Miami and find out when he’s getting back here.”
“Fine,” Kaci says to A.J.“Hi daddy,” she says answering her phone.
“I’m getting ready to get on the plane, when are you and Nick leaving?”
“Soon. We’re waiting on his girlfriend to finish getting ready. When will you be back here?”
“Around one or so. Who’s Nick’s girlfriend and is she going to L.A. too?”
“Her name is Kaley and yes she’s going to L.A. Is that all you wanted?”
“Don’t get an attitude with me Jessica or I will go to L.A. with you!”
“No! I was just asking since we’re getting ready to leave.”
“Loose the attitude before you get home and I will see you at home. I love you.”
“I love you too Daddy.”
Kaci and her dad hang up with each other.
“I’m screwed!”
“Why do you say that?” Nick asks.
“He’s going to be ninety-nine questions with you, I just know it!”
“What time is he going to be back?”
“He said around one or so. I guess we can leave around one then.”
“We’ll be back around then so you can leave,” A.J. says grabbing Kaci’s hand.
