*~*Chapter 17*~*
Kevin and Kelly were just gettng dressed to go walk around the ship.
He looked over at her as he pulled his shirt over his head."Hey Kel.Can I
ask you something?," he questioned her.
She nodded as she pulled a brush through her hair."Sure Kevvy," she
answered.
He walked over to her."I've been doing alot of thinking lately,about
us.And I was just wondering if...," he began,but suddenly stopped.
She glanced at him."What Kev?I'm listening," she told him.She set the
brush down and sat down on the edge of the bed.
He took a deep breath."I was just wondering if I made you happy," he
finally said.
She smiled at him."Now that's a dumb question.Of course you make me
happy.What made you ask?," she prompted.
He sat down next to her and took her hand."My last
girlfriend,Jane,couldn't handle my fame and dumped me because she said I
didn't make her happy.I just wanted to make sure you didn't feel the same
way."
She kissed him on the cheek."No,I don't.I love the fact that you're so
famous,Kev.You make alot of people happy." She gazed at him."Including me."
They kissed then,and when they pulled apart he grinned at her."I love
you,you know that?," he asked.
She nodded."And I love you," she said.She pulled him to his feet."Now
let's go explore this ship."
*~*Chapter 18*~*
Brian and Karen were sitting on a bench,staring out at the crystal blue
water around them.She let out a sigh.
He turned to her and squeezed her hand."You OK?," he asked.
She nodded."Yeah.Now that I'm actually on this boat,I can forget all my
problems,at least for the next two weeks," she told him.She looked at
him."Brian,I want to thank you for what you've been doing for me the past
week."
He pulled a piece of hair from her face."It's no problem at all," he told
her."I saw someone who needed some help."
She bit her lower lip as tears filled her eyes.She stood up and walked
over to the rail,and he followed her.
"What?," he asked,as he placed his hand on her arm.
She shook her head."It's nothing.I don't want to drag you into any more
of my problems," she told him.
He turned her to face him."Talk to me Karen," he prompted her.
She wiped her eyes."It's just you're the first person I've met in a long
time who actually cares about me.I mean,you're willing to help me.Other
people just turn away when they hear my problems,but you're not like that."
he lifted her face so she looked directly at him."I know this may sound
crazy,Karen,but I care for you a great deal.In the short amount of time I've
known you,I've realized what a great person you are.You need someone good who
treats you right,not like David," he said.
She laughed softly."And who do you have in mind?," she teased him.Their
eyes met and locked,and he stepped closer to her.
He reached over and wiped the tears from her face."How about me?," he
whispered,as she continued to gaze at him.
She didn't know what to say;she just stood frozen,not moving.
"I don't know what to say," she finally said,her heart hammering in her
chest.
He ran his finger across her cheek."How about yes?," he answered,and they
both laughed.
He gave her a serious look."I'm not gonna hurt you,if that's what you're
worried about," he told her.
She shook her head."I know.I'm just so confused right now,Brian.I know
you care about me,and I care about you,but I don't know if I want to get
involved with anyone right now," she replied.
He looked at her and squeezed her hand."I'm just getting over a
realtionship myself,and I wasn't really looking until I met you Karen.But now
that we know how we really feel...," he said,but she interrupted.
"I just need some time Brian.I hope you can understand that," she
said."Let's just take things slow right now,OK?"
He nodded as he pulled her into his arms."Just let me help you," he
replied.
She nodded."I will.But as friends,OK?"
He nodded,then took her hand and they went to see if they could find
anyone else to hang out with.
*~*Chapter 19*~*
Howie opened the door to him and Kari's cabin,and found her asleep on the
bed.
He walked over to her,kneeled down,and kissed her gently.She stirred and
a second later opened her eyes.
"Howie?What's wrong?," she asked,sitting up.
He shook his head."Nothing.Go back to sleep," he told her.
She stood up and stretched."I'm OK.I just wanted to lay down for awhile,"
she said.
He gazed at her."You feeling OK?," he asked her.
She nodded."Yeah,I'm fine.Just a little tired," she said,and walked over
to the dresser and took out her bikini."Wanna hit the pool with me?"
He grinned."Oh yeah," he answered,his eyes sparkling.
She went into the bathroom to change,and a few minutes later reappeared
looking so sensational in her new black bikini that his mouth fell open.
She laughed."Quit drooling or you'll sink the ship," she joked,and walked
over and wrapped her arms around him.She rubbed herself against him and
smiled slyly."Why,Mr. Dorough,is that something in your pocket or are you
just happy to see me?"
Howie leaned over and kissed her.She wrapped her arms around his neck and
returned his kisses.The kisses grew deeper,and they were just about to start
ripping each other's clothes off when there was a knock on the door.
"You two ready?," AJ called,and Kari and Howie both groaned in unison.
"We tried," he remarked,and kissed her one last time before opening the
door and heading to the pool with Erica and AJ.
