Eric Post to Return for 6th Season

Blue Blazers Press

Amidst rumors and speculation, Eric Post announced today that he would return for his sixth season as Blue Blazers head coach.

"I am happy to announce that I will be back for another year as the head coach of this franchise," Post said in a statement.

For the past month there have been rumors that Post was set to resign at the head coach and move into a general manager role which would have included hiring a new head coach and continuing the everyday running of the organization. His announcement put an end to those rumors.

"I am fully committed to bringing yet another championship season to this franchise. It is of course, the number one goal."

Only Coach in Blue Blazers History

Eric Post has been the first and only coach of the Blue Blazers since the franchise began in the 2001-2002 season. Mark Gorby is credited for founding the franchise with him and bringing him on board as the head coach. Gorby played his senior year for the Blazer squad and then followed that up with a one year stint as an assistant coach and general manager.

Post has compiled a record of 74-27 which brings up a winning percentage of .733. He is believed to be the winningest coach in Harrison County Parks and Recreation History. His resume also includes two championships and he has been named an all-star coach on four different occasions. The only year he was not named to coach the team, they did not have an all-star squad.

Personal

Post is now employed by the Harrison County Board of Education as a substitute teacher. He is a 2002 graduate of Robert C. Byrd High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fairmont State University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in Social Studies.
