Jonah Simons Makes Team

By Eric Post

The 6 foot 6 inch beast has found new prey. Jonah Simons, former center for the Blue Blazers, has walked on to the Divison 3 Appalachian Bible College Varsity Basketball Team and is expected to get some major playing time with a possible starting role.

Wearing the number 0, the tallest member ever in the history of the Blue Blazers, Simons averaged over 8 points a game in his senior season. But it wasn't his scoring that played a major role for the 2002 Blue Blazers. He rebounded more offensively and defensively than any other player in the Parks and Recreation League. His shot blocking rivaled the former NBA centers with the way he would slam the ball, sometimes sending opposing player's shots to the brick wall of the North View Facility. His 86 points is forth all-time in Blazers history.

We will continue to update throughout the basketball season as Jonah Simons works plays his way into the Divison 3 scene.
