NO

TO BULLFIGHTS IN RUSSIA

Bullfights are atrocious shows, during which the bulls are being tortured severely. Corrida supporters have been planning to make the bloody show popular in Russia. But due to the numerous protests in the country and abroad the two planned bullfights were cancelled in Moscow(2001) and in Yaroslavl(2002). However the bulls specially brought to Russia for the shows are still in the country: kept in a cold shed, underfed and skinny. Many animals are already dead. The Moscow youth group ‘People for Animals’ plans to rescue the bulls and found a sanctuary, where they could be placed. But your help is needed. Any help, including financial support, supplies of food for the bulls, building materials, land, shed, helping hands or other is very welcome. Please contact us today at: tanja_eric@bluewin.ch. Thank you

The problem is that if not rescued now the bulls may be resold for the new bullfights in Russia. They are also suffering from malnutrition and inadequate housing. These southern animals are not used to the cold Russian winters and need special housing.

To realize our plans to open a sanctuary we need to buy the bulls, rent a shed and be able to cover the costs for the fodder, veterinary assistance and the special care. Due to the long-lasting fires in Russia this summer the hay is expensive at the moment.

Thus considerable investments need to be made. ‘People for Animals’ is a non-profit animal protection group, whose work is mostly based on the enthusiasm of its members. Thus your support will be very appreciated.

Any help is welcome. Please contact our campaign coordinator Tanja Maroueva today at: tanja_eric@bluewin.ch.
