Chapter 1-- Introduction
1.1 Mission
The RVSC is a club-level youth soccer organization whose mission is to provide area youth the opportunity to develop individual and team soccer skills to their fullest potential through expert soccer skills training, educa-tion and the best possible team competition. The RVSC promotes the physical, mental and social development of the team sport of soccer. We endeavor to help our youth to develop into outstanding players who will excel in high school and college soccer programs while fostering a spirit of fair play, ethical conduct and sportsmanship.
1.2 Membership
A Member of the RVSC is defined as a RVSC sanctioned team in good standing. Each team shall designate, in writing, one voting representative who will be identified to the RVSC Registrar at the beginning of each sea-son. Teams should complete RVSC Form 1 (Team Representative Designee) to designate their primary and alternate team representative.
A Member in good standing shall have one vote at all Member meetings. A proxy may be granted for team representation at an RVSC meeting. The member team granting the proxy should complete RVSC Form 2 (Voting Proxy Form).
A Member in good standing is:
- Current on all financial obligations to the RVSC
- In good standing with all affiliate organizations as defined in Article VII of the RVSC By-laws
Admission to the RVSC shall be by invitation or by application. If admission is requested by application, a representative from a prospective team should appear before the RVSC Board of Directors to outline the plans for forming a team, and to name the Head Coach and rostered Assistant Coaches. The Coaches’ credentials should also be presented to the Board at the time of application.
1.3 Organization and Board of Directors
The governing body of the RVSC is a Board of Directors (Board), elected by the Membership and entrusted with the power and authority to control the policies, operations, grievances and protests of the RVSC in all de-tails.
The Board of Directors is comprised of the following:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Registrar
A Director of Coaching and three Members-at-Large are also appointed by the elected Board members. These positions will serve as voting members of the Board.
