the "almost" close to the truth of
Re-living the "old-days".

 

You missed a great time on Saturday !!!! Butch, Julie, Danny and me met Chuck at the Oasis. Chuck had flown into Virginia from San Diego to see his daughter, then traveled to ELO to visit some old stomping grounds.

The afternoon started off with some GREAT food . . . mixed with & throughout the dining-experience the "occasional" liquid refreshment (yes Bernie, I only had Diet Coke), we managed to bring each other up to date concerning our lives and the whereabouts of classmates over these past 37 years.. . .

In a nut shell, the average number of:

  • wives         = 1.5
  • kids           = 3.5
  • grandkids   = 3.25
  • fast cars    =  4000+ (a little b.s. here, I think)
  • beers we used to drink  per night   = 200+
  • beers we drink now per night         = 1.34
  • Soft drinks we used to drink per day = 1
  • Soft drinks we drink now per day      = 5
  • average amount of sleep needed in 1965 = 0
  • average amount of sleep needed in 2001 = 24 hours
  • amount of serious partin' we could do per day in 1965 = 24 hours
  • amount of serious partin' we could do per day in 2002 = 24 minutes
  • heart attacks = 2 (Chuck & me)
  • open-heart surgeries = 1 (Chuck)
  • of us coming to the 2004 celebrations = 4

    We also talked about more serious topics. . . the Browns, Steelers, Potters football, downtown ELO, the "Crick", the Lake, ALL of our fast cars. . . and even faster women (the B.S really started flowing at this point), etc.

    All in all we had a great time. . . and Chuck bought. . . so there was no down side!!!. . . and I got home before nap time.
