Another game that KICKS ASS! Released in 1998, Vampire Savior (also known as Darkstalkers: Jedah's Damnation and Darkstalkers 3) is quite easily the best of the Vampire series. Newer characters included (see Arcade Games) are really cool. Loading time is hardly noticable thanks to the 4MB cart. Personally, I prefer playing against a person rather than the computer. The only challenging part of the computer is playing on the hardest difficulty setting..and even that is no where near as fun as playing against a good opponent. Chain combos are still present and, as with Vampire Hunter, you can save up your "Super Meter" (1 match only) and do more damage when you can. The backgrounds are super detailed and music is very good. One of the truely f****d up background is Jedah's, lot's of imagination on that one! (I also love the blood contract). Personal background favorites are Gallon, Morrigan (duh), Zabel, and Aulbath. Each character has their own stories when you finish the game with a certain character. As with XM VS SF, don't buy the PSX version....it's slow and character animations just plain out suck. Also there is some color loss in the PSX version. Gameplay is trademark Capcom.
