Vampire: The Night Warriors, was released in Japan in 1996. This game has differences from the US version. First is the intro. With CG graphics that are cool to a point and the music "Trouble Man" playing (as heard in the US cartoon version of Darkstalkers...a very poorly animated cartoon). The original intro is on the disc as well. All the names and menu screens are in English. I don't know of anyone who has a similar problem but when you actually play the game, you only hear the sound effects and not the music, once your done fighting a character, the "winning screen" sound is messed up. I can't really see any differences in this and the US version other than some name changes. You can put the CD in an audio CD player and hear all the stages music and even the songs. Another problem is the ending credits with no music also. Gameplay is solid and moves are easily done.

You can tell the progammers were having a time trying to get things to work properly. The game was in the process of being transferred to the PSX in almost 2 years. Since the PSX CPU was designed by the same person who designed the SFC CPU, the machine was really not meant for fast 2D games. If you want to play a better version of this, either get the arcade game or play Vampire Hunter or Savior on SS. Still a fun game to play.
