Released by Sega, produced by GameArts/Studio Alex/Working Designs 1993. One of the greatest true RPGs ever on the Sega CD. Starting out with the games cinematics were really good for thier time. Though the cat's voice can get annoying very quick. Some of the voice acting is good but some is just eh. One of the most homo-sounding voice acting has got to be Ghaleon. But anyway, aside from that, Alex only speaks in the game I think one time (actual speech) and then there's Luna. Your childhood sweetheart who seems to be way too nieve. Another friend in your neighborhood is Ramus. The boy who is a bit big and has big dreams of one day becoming rich and famous (or just rich). Along the way, you will meet and make new friends: Jessica, Nash, and Kyle. Kyle and Jessica are usually always getting on each other's nerves (mostly Kyle in his egotistical cheavonistic ways). Jessica is more of a daddy's girl and is somewhat snobby and arrogant. Nash is another story. Coming from the Magic Guild from the City of Vain, he has good magic abilities and attributes. (I know there are only 1 or 2 characters I'm forgetting). So now, as for the game itself, you'll be finding your characters doing lots and lots and lots of what seems to be "errand running" for alot of people just to get further in the game. Sound like fun? You really want to continue with this?! Sure. You know you do! Cause you never know when you will get to the point in the game when you don't run errands anymore! So fun. Anyways, there is a ton of humor ranging from a remark made by a girl in a town relating to the 90210 character Shannon Daugherty and another (enemy who works with well, the enemy) acting like Beavis and Butthead. The humor and story in this game is what really keeps you coming back for more and wanting to advance. Another aspect of the game that has to be the coolest ever is the music. No other RPG music (except for maybe Final Fantasy VII) even comes close for a great soundtrack and really fits the mood of each scene/town/overworld. Favorites being The City of Vain, Overworld, Ice Cave (near the beginning), and Meribia. And whoever thought Dragonmaster Dyne would be... well nevermind. Great story and music. And the smart ass cat, Nall! A great game. I would highly suggest playing this one even if you have played the PS1 remake version. Also a good time to play when snowed in or when you have too much time on your hands. Speaking of too much time on your hands, I hope you have plenty if you intend on defeating the final boss with no problems cause you're going to need time. Say like, 2 to 3 hours a day only fighting on the overworld for maybe 2 days to a week to build your characters HP and MP up enough to be strong. Really good and helps alot with no sweat killing enemies. Great RPG and highly recommended!
