(WARNING!!: Lower images may be spoilers!!!) Back in the early 90's, the 16 bit world was flooded with action/platform games. One of which was this title released in 1991 by Renovation (Wolfteam). This game had great control, sound, and graphics. With it's high price starting out at $69.95, many gamers overlooked and left it behind. Those that did shell out for it got an awesome game! One of the bad points about it in the US was the horrible box art. If it had kept it's original work, it undoubtedly would have sold better. But oh well, what do you expect from the US gaming market. Aside from the box art, the graphics and cut scenes are the best I've seen on the Genesis. With a gripping story, El Viento keeps you playing 'til the very end. As you go through the levels, you gain different types of magic: Fire, Water, Wind, a greater Fireball, and a tracking wind type magic that sort of resembles needles and homes in on the enemy. When some enemies are defeated (especially the end bosses), they will blow up with a spectacular, exaggerated, pixilated, and very cool explosion. Each stage has it's own unique colors and backgrounds and music that fits the game's mood perfectly. On a personal note, this is, and probably always will be, my favorite action/platform game ever. You can definitely pick up a copy on Ebay or other game retail sites for a good price. An awesome game to play and challenging! Highly recommended!
