I was watching a television program that explained the need for text-only pages for blind people.

It seems that about 20% of the people currently using the net are handicapped in some way or another. Text-only pages are easier for computerized text readers or read.

I would encourage anyone who has a web page to create text-only pages by copying your page, then stripping out the graphics.  It seems to me that creating a link in the top left hand corner of your page to the text only page would make sense, since text readers probably read top to bottom; left to right. This puts the link as the first thing on the page being read.

This took me all of five minutes, and I will mirror the other pages in text-only format as I get a chance.

It's a good thing.
