Chapter
Eight
AJ and Tessa spent the next two days together. They
talked, made love and found that they had a lot in common. Tessa drew the
line at clothing. They did not have the same tastes in clothes, but that
was OK. AJ was AJ. That was him.
They danced together often. It was still as sensual
as the first time. AJ taught her some of the dance moves that he and the
guys did on stage. She was very good. AJ loved to sing Lay Down Beside Me
to her as he danced with her. They began to fall in love.
On Sunday night, AJ had to leave to go back to Florida.
It was an emotional time for them. Tessa wanted to drive him to the airport,
but AJ said no. For security reasons and for privacy, he did not want the
world to find out about her until they were ready. So he needed to have a
driver take him. The limo was out in front of her apartment and AJ was ready
to go.
"I'll call you when I get home." He took her in his
arms and held her. She cried.
"I'll miss you AJ." Tessa said against AJ's neck.
"Me too." He whispered in her ear.
"AJ?"
"Yeah babe?" He croaked.
"I think I'm falling in love with you. Is that OK with
you?" She pulled back and looked at him trying to read his beautiful chocolate
eyes.
His eyes tendered and he took her face in his hands.
"I have already fallen. I love you." He kissed her hard and long. "I have
to go, Baby, or I'll never leave."
"That would be just fine with me." She didn't want
to let go of him.
He pulled her arms away from him. It was the hardest
thing he had ever had to do. He managed to smile at her. "I love you."
AJ turned and walked to the waiting limo. At the limo
door, he stopped and looked back, waving to her. As he turned to get into
the limo, he wiggled his butt at her, blew her a kiss and got in. The driver
shut the door. Soon the limo was gone.
Tessa shut the door slowly, walked into her bedroom
where she picked up the pillow AJ had used. She laid down, hugged the pillow
to her. She smelled in his scent and cried. "I love you." Then she got a
half smile on her face. "And you love me too. She rolled over holding the
pillow in her arms like a teddy bear, taking in the scent of him again.
AJ called almost every night. He was so full of love
for Tessa. They talked for hours. They never seemed to run out of things
to talk about. Every now and then, one of the other guys would get on the
phone and say "Hi."
After a few weeks though, AJ was starting to get down
again. Howie was getting concerned. There was no way for AJ to go seen Tessa.
So... Howie approached Nick, Brian and Kevin with a plan. They agreed. AJ
was getting so down, it hurt them to watch him.
Armed with a front row ticket, Tessa showed up at the
next concert, thanks to Howie. She waded through the crowd of girls, women,
children and anything else who could get in front of her.
It had been hard not telling AJ about coming to the
concert. He had been wanting her to come and see him, but her boss, Roy would
not let her off work to go. This time was no different, so she quit. She
would deal with the repercussions later. Right now, she was going to see
her man and later, she would be in his arms. Her stomach flipped in
anticipation.
Howie did not want her to go to the meet and great
because AJ needed his mind on the concert, not on who was backstage. Once
on stage, his professionalism would not let him falter, then, Tessa could
let her presence be known. She found her seat and waited for the concert
to begin.
