Red Rooster

WWF Circa Late 80s

Terry Taylor just joined Ricky Steamboat in the "I shouldn't be here, but Vince McMahon hates me" files. Taylor was a great wrestler, just making a name for himself in the old WCW (aka NWA). Finally, WWF offered him a contract in 1988, and he jumped on it.

Sometime in fall of 1988, Bobby Heenan debuted the Red Rooster, stating that he could manage anyone to a WWF Championship, even the Rooster. Well, Rooster might have been good, hell he main evented at Survivor Series 1988 vs. the likes of Hogan, Savage & Koko B. Ware, and heck, he had his own T-SHIRT!

But for some odd reason, he wasn't over enough to give the push too. So what did WWF do? Fire him? Make him even more of a jobber? Well yes, but they also had him dump Bobby Heenan on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event....

And spray painted his hair red! Now he was thinking he was an actual Rooster. But the WWF still didn't care much and cut the head off this bird and sent him back to where he came from. Taylor, though, didn't learn his lesson, and returned to the WWF in early 1993, even competing in the Royal Rumble, lasting a notable 20 seconds. To add insult to injury, they had "Bob Backlund" "write" a "letter" to WWF magazine in the Q&A section to Terry Taylor, dissing how he bought his clothes from K-mart. Taylor soon flew away from the WWF and returned several years later as one of Vince's suits.

No, I didn't mean he ACTUALLY made a suit out of him, he was mainly a booker, before he was fired AGAIN and went to WCW during its bad period!!! He was 3rd string to Vince Russo & Eric Bischoff. He must pray he's retired so he doesn't need to go through any more humiliation like his career in the WWF.
