Where is Pieper Runoff from?
Runoff hails from New Orleans, Louisiana, as that is the first place he was officially seen. It is possible that he moved here from somewhere else, though he won't admit this.

What is up with those scars on his throat?
Rumor has it that he had surgery to remove some scar tissue from his vocal chords some time ago, but the surgery went horribly wrong. Multiple attempts went into repairing the damage caused by the slip of the blade, with only minimal success. Needless to say, Runoff CAN speak, but it causes great discomfort. Thus, he opts NOT to speak, unless to get a point across that writing on a board or on a piece of paper WON'T.

In the ring, he throws a LOT of kicks, why is that?
From the little that is known about him, most of which comes from his mouth, he has recieved training as a Muay Thai Kickboxer, This means he loves to throw knees and kicks. He brought Reese Lewis to his knees using kicks alone. He integrated this with the fight style one would use in your friendly corner pub: especially the use of various weaponry. He has also recieved formal training as a wrestler, in addition to some of the more unorthodoxed techniques he has improvised along the way. He has also started to show a propensity to take more risks, no doubt a result of working with the Extreme Machine.

What's the story behind the Extreme Machine?
Extreme Machine was born Wayne Owens on Oct. 8, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Augusta, GA. He was drawn to the business at a young age, mainly as an escape from the abyssmal backdrop that he grew up in. He quickly became bored with stars like Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund, and found himself interrested in a DIFFERENT style: a style that introduced him to the likes of the Original Shiek, Abdullah the Butcher, and the like. During his teenage years, Hulkamania was all the rage, but he was an outcast even with the wrestling crowd because he found himself interrested in the likes of Terry Funk and especially Cactus Jack Manson, a man that gave not a shit about his own well being or that of his opponents, especially when he'd jump off the top rope and nail his opponent, who was on the floor, with an elbow. He also knew that Hogan didn't do a damn thing that wasn't originated by the Freebirds or Jerry "The King" Lawler. At age 17, He went to an event and was amazed by a Mexican Wrestler by the name of Mil Mascares, an innovator of a style of wrestling known as Lucha Libre. A few months later, on his 18th birtday, he went into the business. He found himself enthralled by the basics, learning as many suplexes as he could. He was just a normal looking kid with a brown mullet at the time, the only thing standing out were his marbeled eyes. Shortly after completing his training, several of his instructors became quite apparant of his still growing penchant for violence and sent him off to Japan, hoping the Death Match circuit would calm him down. He used many of the basics he learned during his first tour of Japan, but one night changed how people looked at him forever. Young Wayne Owens stepped into a glass cage against a larger unknown opponent who bounced him off the walls on several occasions. He then was thrown against a wall with such force, he found himself on the other side of it! He seemed oblivious to the dozens of gashes he recieved as a result and climbed to the top of what remained of the tattered cage. He would then do something amazing: Do a front flip of the top, grab his opponent's head, and drive him down in a variation of a move he had just seen Johnny Ace do earlier that night. He covered the man for the three count, and then realized how much of a bloody mess he was. Thousands of stitches were required and, when he returned to the ring the next and final night of his tour, he was scarred all to hell and had a new name: "The Machine" Wayne Owens. After that match, he recieved a new opportunity, a plane ticket to Mexico City. His name would be La Maquina Extrema and he was quickly learning Lucha Libre. After this tour he recieved several offers, as well as the knowledge that his Mexican title was Spanish for Extreme Machine. Three years was spent zig zagging the world, 5 tours of Japan, 3 tours of Mexico, several tours of Europe and Africa, before returning stateside for good, having fully integrated the styles of Lucha Libre, Garbage Wrestling, and the Suplex based style he was weaned on. Before his first match state-side, he spontaneously braided his hair and shaved what he couldn't braid. He enterred the ring at the right time: The Extreme Revolution had just begun! He was introduced as "The Extreme Machine" Wayne Owens, but then took the mic and said that his given name meant nothing to him, and that he should be from then on referred to as simply the Extreme Machine. EM continued using his psychotic style throughout the country, picking up Cruiserweight Titles and the occasional Hardcore Title. His body started giving out on him as a result of the madness he put it through, and he hadn't achieved his ultimate goal: a World Heavyweight Championship! One night, in a company called Simply Hardcore Wrestling, in the confines of a steel cage, he achieved his dream! He didn't hold the title very long, as his injuries kept him from successfully defending it. He retired shortly thereafter, hoping to focus his better years on running a gym chain out of his birthplace of Philadelphia, PA. However, he couldn't keep the sport he loved out of his mind. One day, after opening the newest gym in New Orleans, he visited a training camp. It was here that he was shocked at the style of a local who threw a lot of kicks. He figured this guy could well be the future of the sport. That's when he found out the one thing that held him back: he Couldn't Talk. This was the opportunity EM was looking for: he quickly signed to be the man's manager. That man is Pieper Runoff, and EM searched for the best place he could find to bring his new protoge'. He found it in the Imperia Wrestling Franchise. Now he's watching his new student bring about chaos. Something seems to be missing, however: He needs to be back in the ring! He made his in-ring return at A Night to Remember, pinning Micheal Windrunner to win the Nightmare Partner Tag Match. His solo debut was successful, ending with a victory over Kid Flash. His seconds singles match was a loss to Alex Dunvegan in a Triple Threat Match for the IWF Undisputed Title.

Who Has Runoff been facing?
Pieper made his debut against Kid Flash at the November 24th edition of Sunday Night Fights. He won the match with the Silencer in 32 seconds. His second match was at Slamfest against Dhaisona Laraedo. He lost the match, but he has stolen her engagement ring and had injured her manager Micheal Windrunner. Dec 8, he struck again, this time defeating Trent Helms at Sunday Night Fights. December 15, Runoff defeated Reese Lewis in what was a very brutal, one-sided affair. December 31 is A Night to Remember, as he and his manager the Extreme Machine step into the ring to finish the war with Dhaisona Laraedo and Micheal Windrunner in the Nightmare Partner Tag Match. EM made the pinfall in a hard fought battle, with an assist from Elijah Storm. His next match with Purgetory was a victory, but the decision was reversed after he and EM wouldn't stop assaulting his knee. His next match is the TV Title Battle Royale, where he eliminated Kid Flash, Sniper, and Gerg to become the FIRST IWF TV Champion.

What is the Mute's facination with the New Orleans Sludge Scene?
The noise that is NOLA Sludge is possibly a way for Runoff to say what he hasn't been able to. The hostility portrayed by the music is imbedded in his veins. Moreso than the Extreme Machine, this brand of music is his voice. That and he's good friends with Jimmy Bower and Brian Patton of EyeHateGod (and several other NOLA bands). He also hangs out with Down's Pepper Keenan from time to time. The greatest tribute, however, is christening one of his finishers after the band of the late Audie Pitre: The Acid Bath.

What's the significance of the name Acid Bath to Pieper Runoff's finisher?
Acid Bath took its name from a serial killer in Post World War II England by the name of John George Haigh. His methods involved incapacitating his victim with a gunshot, opening a wound enough to obtain a cup full of blood, drinking their blood, and dumping the corpses into an oil drum full of acid, reducing the bodies to a pile of sludge. This made him known as the Acid Bath Vampire. (Credit crimelibrary.com ) The finisher works similarly: He attempts to incapacitate them with the Cobra Clutch, their struggling is basically his drawing and drinking of their blood, and he reduces them to lifeless sludge when he adds the Legsweep. Dhaisona Laraedo received the Acid Bath on the concrete floor at Slamfest, after her victory. He also nailed Purgetory with the Acid Bath on the 1/12 edition of SNF. Gerg took 2 Acid Baths and Billy Heal was hit with one backstage on 1/19.

What about Runoff's other finisher, the Silencer?
This move is a bit more sinister, as it displays his ruthless side. It starts off simple enough: with a snap mare. Then, with little recovery time, Runoff delivers a thrust kick. He doesn't get full extension on the kick until after it lands, which means the victim recieves the full brunt of the impact. Kid Flash and Trent Helms have both fell prey to this attack. On 1/19, Kid Flash received ANOTHER one, Sniper fell to one, and Gerg escaped it the first time.

What is Zero Nowhere?
The name is taken from an EyeHateGod song. It is a ultraviolent tandem manuever that Runoff does with Extreme Machine. It's the Silencer and a running dropkick to the face delivered simulataneously, leaving the victims head nowhere to go. The only thing making the move more devastating is that the victim's head is sandwiched between two chairs. This is the move that laid out Micheal Windrunner twice: Once at Slamfest, and one more time at a Night to Remember.

What does the tag team name of Agents of Oblivion mean?
Runoff's friends in Acid Bath created a band named Agents of Oblivion with Chuck Pitre, the brother of the late Audie Pitre. They put out one album before breaking up. The album was mainly a tribute to their fallen former bassist. What is Pieper Runoff's entrance theme?
Soilent Green's "Sewn Mouth Secrets." The Official Webpage The band features Brian Patton of EyeHateGod on guitar, and they are Insanely Heavy.

What is Extreme Machine's new entance theme?
"Fuck Your Enemy" by Superjoint Ritual. A band that features Phil Anselmo of Pantera and Down on vocals, Jimmy Bower of EyeHateGod, Down, and COC on guitar, and Hank Williams III on bass.

What is the Agents of Oblivions' theme?
"American Waste" by Black Flag, the pioneers of Hardcore and the cornerstones of what would become Sludge.
