THE UNDEFEATABLE CHRIS JERICHO
Cruiserweight Champion
Apr. 6, 2005 - Jun. 1, 2005
At the PWF's first pay-per-view broadcast, No Escape, The Undefeatable Chris Jericho, Austin Aries, and X-Pac were signed to do battle in a Triple Threat Ladder match to decide the Cruiserweight Championship. Chris Jericho was impressive in this bout, backing up his claim that he was the world's finest cruiserweight. He was able to climb the ladder and add yet another title to his seemingly endless collection of wrestling championships. Jericho also held Cruiserweight titles in the SCW and NOWF.
After defeating any and all cruiserweight challengers, Jericho's reign as Cruiserweight Champion would end on Jun. 1 when Eric Bischoff declared the Cruiserweight title defunct, citing a lack of competition. The Undefeatable was no doubt having SCW flashbacks, as this was the second time this had happened to him. On the bright side, Jericho lit up at the prospect of winning a new, more highly respected championship in the future. He remained calm, most likely due to the fact that Bischoff agreed he could retain possession of the actual Cruiserweight title belt to keep his personal collection at six. Jericho would later say that seven would very soon be "the new six." He would not be lying.
