Upon his return, Taz was granted a title shot against Excellence. Amazingly to many, he was defeated by the self-proclaimed Franchise Player of the Sport the night before the NOWF's first pay-per-view event. However, the scheduled rematch for the show was changed by a last-minute stipulation that stated only suplexes would be allowed. Truly in his element, Taz made short work of the champion and claimed his third World Championship, and a new precedent was set for dominance.
