THE HUMAN SUPLEX MACHINE TAZ
World Champion
May 26, 1997 - Jun. 1997
The OWF's first and only foray into pay-per-view took place on Memorial Day of 1997, and its main event was the dawning of a new age of professional wrestling. The Human Suplex Machine Taz had come into the OWF on a tear, decimating competition right and left, to the point where the OWF Championship Committee felt they had no choice but to insert him into the planned rematch between Chris Benoit and the Undertaker. Benoit was the first man eliminated, and, then -- shockingly -- Taz held the unstoppable phenom known as the Undertaker in his Tazmission for nearly thirty minutes before the Dead Man finally went down for the count. Those who witnessed the event saw the very first -- but certainly not the last -- crowning of a true champion in Taz.
