Hollywood Hogan was awarded the title with the understanding that he would defend it against a wrestler chosen by NOWF officials. That man ended up being Excellence, a man who had represented the NOWF in the rival promotion Supreme Championship Wrestling. After a hard-fought matchup, Excellence's SCW World Tag Team Championship partner Shadow Master appeared, interfering to help Excellence catch Hogan in the Perfect-Plex for the win and his very first World Championship.
