Bret Hart and Curt Hennig had actually been friends and partners for a while, but, as happens all too often with competitors of their caliber, ego came between them. Hart coveted the World title Hennig carried, and set out to earn a shot, which he got at NOWF Final Battleground. In a remarkable Hell in a Cell match, Hart got the win with his legendary Sharpshooter submission hold.
