Shane McMahonSHANE "THE MONEY" McMAHON
European Champion
Jul. 8, 2001 - Jul. 21, 2001

Shane McMahon would earn his shot at the European Championship by having his goons, Kronic, destroy his competition, clearing his path. Kronic would then assault Riptide when he qualified for the second spot in the match at Power Trip against McMahon for the gold. On Jul. 8, after weeks of sustaining numerous beatings at the hands of Kronic, the showdown between McMahon and Riptide would finally occur. Just as Riptide seemed poised to become the HWA's first European Champion, Kronic would blatantly interfere, saving Shane-O-Mac from certain defeat, and giving Riptide the High Times right in front of the official. As the referee went to disqualify Shane, McMahon handed him a wad of hundred-dollar bills! After a short moment of contemplation, the official dropped to the canvas and counted Riptide's shoulders down, 1-2-3, allowing McMahon to buy the decision and the gold!
